Dad sat at the corner of the bed when I woke up again. Somehow I was home in bed. I really don't remember coming home at all.
"Dad?" I whispered, but cleared my throat to make it sound cleaner. "Dad."
"Athena." Dad said looking up from his book and sat closer to me. "How are you feeling?"
I nodded my head and looked around the room, it was clean, but when's it not. "When did we get home?"
"Ryder carried you, you were sleeping." He explained pointing the tray of food on the nightstand. "In case you were hungry."
I nodded my head and knew we had to talk about the newly found information. But dad seemed to already know because he gave me a reassuring smile. "It's weird, isn't it?"
"The wolves thing?" Dad said nodding his head. "Or the fact Khalil killed their brother, Mark was saying that Yulian was reckless and It's his fault he died."
I nodded my head. "This whole mate thing is weird too, like the whole reason I'm sick is because we haven't marked or mated and all that."
Dad laughed and nodded his head, showing me the slight marking on his neck, it looked more like a scar than anything. "It's how I found out with Mark, he marked me on accident and then explained everything. I was going to tell you, but you had the game then the hospital, so."
I nodded my head again, it seems like that's all I can do. "Wheres Anri?"
Dad opened the door and looked down the hall. From my bed I can see the hall and Anri was just sitting there in front of my room. Dad looked between the two of us and smiled.
"Come in, I told you you could've waited in here." Dad said and saluted us. "We have more to talk about, but I have to get to work."
"Bye dad, love you." I found myself saying but didn't realize it's the first time I told him I loved him in my whole life, I think. Like truly said it with full meaning behind it.
Dad smiled and must've noticed too because he wrapped me in his arms, holding onto my tightly. "I love you too, Athena." I smiled and laughed when Dad pulled Anri in who had been standing there awkwardly. "You too kid."
I can feel Anri's body heat up when dad said that. After a few seconds, dad pulled away and left us in my room. Anri took the spot next to me in bed and laid down, putting his head on my chest. It felt nice having someone so close and feeling safe.
"So." Anri whispered looking up at me. "Want to go to the mall?"
"I'm supposed to go to the mall with Ryder." I said trailing off, but why not. "Okay, let's go to the mall. I'll just text Ryder and tell him to suck it."
He smiled and ran back to his room to get ready. Besides, Ryder has a game.
'I'm going to the mall with Anri, so that means no mall on weekend, I'll plan something else for us to do tho' I texted and went to take a shower when Anri stepped out.
I tried not to notice it, but you can clearly see the scars on his chest from his past and his abs. But more attention grabbing was the bruise in his neck from Kevin.
"You can tell him to stop." I said leaning against the wall waiting for him to finish using bruising his teeth. Anri almost gagged on the toothpaste and looked at me with a guilty look.
"It's not like that. He just, his personality is just really dominant, it's hard not to get turned on. But he doesn't do it to hurt me." Anri assured and went into his room. I shrugged my shoulders and went into the bathroom, quickly getting ready. Looking in the mirror, I was no different than Anri.
