The game being today, I was so nervous, not even Ryder can distract me. Mainly because I feel horrible for keeping such a big plan a secret, but Roslyn said we have to be patient and wait for the perfect time.

Today just didn't seem to be a good day for anything. Ryder was tense all day and grew possessive whenever Jacob walked into the room.

Jacob didn't seem to be any better as he was possessive when Ryder was in the room.

It was suffocating all around. At least I wasn't alone, Anri was on the brick of a panic attack with Kian and Kevin literally on him. Well Kevin was actually suffocating him and then Kian would grow jealous when he saw the hand mark around Anri's neck. It was almost like Kevin was staking his claim.

In the morning, Ryder put his jacket around me and grew angry when I'd wear anything revealing. It was getting too much.

"I don't get why you'd wear such a short skirt and not even a bra-"

"Red flag." I said taking off his jacket and handing it to him. "That's a red flag for toxicity."

He gently grabbed onto my hand when I began to walk away from the car. It's hard to believe it's only been a few days since we were making out against the car and now we're arguing.

"Baby, I'm trying to protect you-"

"I doubt me wearing a skirt would be any different if I pulled up wearing jeans. I doubt me coming up covered head to toe is going to stop anyone from doing anything! Okay? It doesn't matter what I wear and either way, you shouldn't even think about placing your opinion on what I wear unless I ask." I snapped back getting reminded of mom when she used to slut shame.

"Baby, please, you don't understand-"

"Either get over it or don't fucking talk to me, okay? You're acting like my fucking mother." The PTSD settling in when he had an angry look on his face. But the second I mentioned my mother, his face turned into shock.

He knew I didn't mean it in the sarcastic way. Pulling my arm out his hold, I walked away fixing my shirt and skirt. In front of me was Jacob who had a smug smirk on his face.

With the crowded hallways, he somehow managed to meet my eyes. Leaning against the wall with a book in hand, his eyes followed my every move.

"Bad argument?" He ask following me to the cafeteria. I rolled my eyes and almost jumped when he moved in front of me. His arm came up and I flinched with my whole body, thinking he was going to hit me. But I knew he wasn't going to hit me. Standing there frozen, he waited for me to make the first move and I stepped back. "Your mom."

He pieced it together. Meeting his eyes, I nodded my head in shame. "Just leave me alone today, please? Just this one day."

I hate that he can overhear practically everything.

With that, I moved past him and went into class early. When the bell rang, I expected to see Ryder, but he never showed. Khalil pretended as if Ryder and I hadn't had an argument and talked like everything was normal.

"Where's Ryder?" I asked when the bell rang for our next class.

"He went home." She said, she moved so awkwardly as if it made her uncomfortable to be talking about him.

"We don't have to talk about him." I said walking into our next class first and took a seat. She gave me an appreciative smile. The rest of the day, Jacob didn't talk to me and respected my space. The soccer girls seemed to fill the gap that Ryder created in my social circle.

In between classes and during the line in the cafeteria we talked and it felt nice. They were normal. I feel like a high schooler.

Khalil didn't come with us and she stayed behind when walking to class since she was talking to Juliana.
