Chapter 9

At lunch, it felt weird. For right now it was just the girls as in Khalil, Roslyn, and I. Juliana wasn't here yet and neither were the boys.

"So when are you guys having sex?" Roslyn asked looking up at me causing Khalil to gasp and slap her hands over my ears.

"She's still innocent!" Khalil exclaimed causing me to laugh and slap her arms away.

"I'm not even a virgin you idiot." I said rolling my eyes and realized what I just said out loud. Shit.

"You're not?" Roslyn asked giving me a once over. Rolling my eyes again, I shook my head.

"No I had a serious boyfriend before." Two, but the first one wasn't even that serious.

"Really? What happened?" Khalil asked genuinely. I shrugged and didn't want to really say it. "Ahh cheated."

"Or lost feelings?" Roslyn suggested.

"Died." I said knowing the next few seconds were about to be awkward. "A couple months ago in November."

"It's January." Khalil whispered looking at Roslyn.

"I'm aware." Roslyn said rolling her eyes at Khalil's stupidity. "I'm sorry for your loss, Athena. We shouldn't have pushed."

"It's fine." I said and thanked god when Kian and Anri showed up with Juliana.

"Hey did you guys hear the rumors?" Kian asked sitting down in front of us with large smiles. I looked at him confused.

"About what?" Roslyn asked when she grew tired of him waiting for us to answer him.

"Apparently people are wanting Athena and Ryder to get together. They've even come up with names!" Kian answered wiggling his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes and looked around the table to see that people were actually glancing back at us.

"Why would they pair us together?"

"Well I don't know, probably because we don't usually have others join our lil group." Roslyn muttered, smiling when Eugene sat down at the table across from her.

"That still doesn't explain Ryder and I."

"Because Ryder is the only single guy in the group and he's the king of the high school!" Juliana sarcastically explaining in a nice voice. I'm guessing they don't like that he's called king of the high school.

"Stop with that king shit. It's ridiculous." Ryder said sitting down across from me since I was next to Khalil and Roslyn. I watched as he sat down and blushed, looking at Anri.

"They're even thinking of names."

"Like what? Whore?" I asked assuming the worst. I mean, if I'm taking away their precious king then they must hate me.

"No! Cutest couple. They're thinking about calling you guys Ryna. Ryder and Athena, Ryna."

"Sounds like gonorrhea." Juliana said causing all of us to laugh.

"How the fuck did you get that from ryna?" Khalil asked causing Juliana to blush.

"You know! Just think about it!"

"Anyway," Kian said shaking his head, "there's also Ryn like Reign since Ryder is like the king of the high school."

"Why do we need a name at all?" Ryder asked setting down a tray of food in front of me. I shrugged my shoulders and dug into the fries.

"I don't understand it either."

"Come on? The new girl with the king of the high school, it's a cliche and it's cute." Kian said causing Khalil to laugh.
