01-Beginnings

Katlyn's POV (Gifter)

"She's beautiful. "I looked up and smiled at the baby's father who had tear stains down his cheeks and more brimming his eyes.

"Have you chosen a name?" I asked with another smile.

"Yes...Denise."

"Wonderful name, I have a feeling that she will achive many great things in her life." Denise looked io at me and smiled. There was a bright twinkle in her eyes that I had never seen in my years as a Gifter. Reaching out for the girl, I placed her in my arms cradling her.

"So much like her mother...Chestnut brown hair and gray-blue eyes." I looked intently into the new born's eyes trying to decide what she would be. As a Gifter it is my job to chose the power each individual would receive. "Time." I simply stated handing her back to her father. Her eyes turned gold before they changed back to their original color.

"Thank you for your blessing." Denise's father said before walking away.

It made me sad knowing she would never meet her mother. Denise's mother died while giving birth to her but I know she saw her before her final breaths. Walking to my desk I sat down in front of my oracle book. It gave me, the Gifter, the ability to see a rough timeline of what the person would achive. Before even opening it, I knew deep inside that Denise's purpose wasn't here..it was somewhere else.

Opening the book, I watch closely to the symbols moving around the pages. When they came to a stop I'm surprised at what I see! Everyone gets a task in life so that they could change something in our world. The thing with Denise, is that it doesn't take place on our planet. Instead, it takes place on a planet many light years away called Earth.

The other symbols dont make any sense. She's supposed to help people on Earth? Out of many task people have been given, this one is the strangest I've ever encountered. There's more to her story as I expected because the symbols were rearranging themselves.

Now it said that she wouldn't be doing this on her own. There was someone else, with the power over love, that would go with her on her journey...

-5 years later -

I watched as we opened up the pod. Denise's father had tears in his eyes. He placed a book with a time lock on it. When she would come of age, it would open and tell her of our kind.

"Bring in the other girl." I called watching as the girl lay sleeping in the pod. Haley was the one that would be going with Denise to this new planet. We could do nothing to interfere with what they both had to do. Hopefully those humans would take care of them and not treat them like monsters.

The thing about our time is that we have longer lives then those humans. We grow until we are 23 and that's when our age-int starts to slow down. It's normal here, but how will they react? Never the less these young girls will have plenty of time to figure this out.

With both child's placed inside the pod, it was sealed off tight. They were both dispatched into the darkness of space set to land on Earth in no longer than 6 months. There is no actual saying if they will come back. I cant even say if they will be able to complete their task... All will need time to find out.
