03. News Flash

Haley's POV

The two of us watched from the floor as the book stopped shooting out light and fell to the floor. We carefully got closer to the book that was open to the first page. The page was covered by weird symbols, but what was even weirder was that I could understand what it said.

"You understand what the symbols mean right...?" I asked Denice. She simply nodded her head. This is what the front page said;

'For the dearest Denice and Haley. By the time this has opened, the two of you must be around the age of 15. There are many things that the two of you must know about your kind. Forgive us for leaving you on this planet without much instructions, but it needed to be made.'

Tears slipped from both of our eyes as we kept on reading.

'This book contains all you need to know about why you are here on planet Earth. We hope that we will be able to answer any questions you might have mustered up the last 10 years. Once again we apologize that this has come this way.'

As we flipped through the pages, we saw tons of pictures of when we were little. I saw a picture of my parents and burst out into more tears. We also read that Denice's mom was dead and that just broke my heart. Toward the end of the book there was what seemed like instructions for something.

We kept on reading and it was all just really hard to take in. So from what I understood was that the two of us had to do something that would change people's lives.

"How do we know who's lives to change?" I asked confused.

"Says here that we'd know who when the time comes..." Still flipping through the pages I found out that I had the power of Love, what ever that meant, and Denice of Time.

"This is so complicated to process." I said.

"I think I actually get it Haley." When I looked at her she had a glossy kind of look in her eyes. She didn't move she just kept staring off at the wall behind me.

"Denice?! Denice, what's going on?! Talk to me Denice!" And with that she passed out and fell to the floor.

Denice's POV

I wasn't in my body anymore I knew that. Looking down I noticed that I was somehow floating off the ground. From the back of my head I could hear Haley yelling something at me but it slowly started to fade away.

Looking out in front of me it seemed like I was in a studio of some sort, maybe backstage somewhere. A cluster of people were gathered not too far away. Getting closer something started pulling my focus out. Blinking I open my eyes to see that I'm looking at a stage.

The lights are too dim to see anything. The most I could make out was a giant X at the back. Still with dimmed lights, I watched as 9 people walked on stage. From where I was I could tell that 4 of them were girls and the other 5 were guys.

"What does this mean?" I asked in my head. Voices came from behind me and I turned to see 3 people sitting in chairs behind me. They said something and I turned to see the nine people on stage jumping around. "Looks almost like a competition...."

Just then the lights started to get brighter. Now would be the time I could see the faces. The lights did get bright, too bright, but I couldn't see anyone. Eventually the light was just too bright and I closed my eyes to become surrounded by darkness...

Yes this is short and I'm sorry. I would have posted this sooner but I can only use Italics on the computer... Anyways there's going to be short chapters like this to create a sort of suspense in the story. Hopefully I can make longer chapters soon. So since this is such sort chapter I'm only going to ask for 3 votes and 3 comments since you guys were able to do the challenge last time:)
