-10 years later -

Denise's POV

The bell had just rung from school and I hurried to find Haley. Both of us have been together ever since I could remember. We were told that we were found in the cold one winter when we were only five. My parents, I like to call them that, raised us as if we were their own. They didn't have any other kids...it was just us.

Our parents had quite a lot of money and when they passed away not too long ago, we inherited their money. The two of us have been living pretty well alone, though sometimes it makes me sad that we don't have any other family. I'm glad to have Haley with me because without her I don't know where I'd be. Sometimes I feel like there's something more to our past.... I get these faint memories of when I was younger and I always see this one lady who would always look and my eyes.

I know we're sisters, but are we really sisters? We dont look much a like now that I think about it... Haley has dark straight brown hair and light brown eyes, while my hair is a chestnut color and my eyes are grey-blue ish. Maybe our parents just had different physical characteristics that we were given.

When we got home I went to the kitchen to start on my school work. Both of us live in our "mansion " in Doncaster, England, and even though we've lived here for as long as we can remember we could never quite pick up the whole accent thing completely. Haley comes and sits down with a bag of crisps and chews loudly while starting her school work as well. The house is quiet but we're long used to it.

"I heard that Louis Tomlinson is dating someone again." Haley states still completely focused on her work.

I let out a loud groan. "Haley, why do you even care who he's dating?! You even said so yourself he was too much to work for." Louis was two years above us, making him 17. He also does a lot with theather which I find odd.

"Guess who he's dating now?!" She looked up at me with an excited grin on her face.

"Who?" I responded in a bored tone.

"Olivia Smith." She simply stated with a smile before returning to doing her work. Olivia was only a year above us. So Louis is dating someone younger than him...? To say so myself, Olivia isn't a bad person. She has wavy auburn hair and hazel eyes rimmed in grey. She's a bit on the short side at about 5'3, but she's really nice. I'm surprised he's even going out with her since I thought Louis was only interested in the cheerleaders.

No Olivia is definetly not a cheerleader. She's actually really energetic and is super random. I guess I can see why he would go out with her... Olivia isn't also the most girly when it comes to what to wear. She prefers anything as long as its not a dress or a skirt.

Haley and I dont really get close to anyone at school. We prefer to be to ourselves than to hang out with big crowds. I'm pretty smart when it comes to history and things like that. For some reason I've always been interested in the past and how things will be in the future.

"They won't last long." Haley said in a sad tone snapping me back into reality.

"What?" I ask confused.

"Louis and Olivia, they won't last long." She repeated.

"What makes you think that? I think they'd be a good couple." I argued.

"I'm not sure. Something inside just tells me that they're not going to be together forever..." with that she picked up her books and headed up to her room.

I stood there still trying to take in all that she said. Grabbing an apple, I quickly finished the last bit of my work I had to do. When I was satisfied with my work, I packed up and went to my room.

There was a light shining from under my door and I just thought that I had let the light on. Opening the door I let out a scream at what I saw.

Haley's POV

I was laying on my bed staring up at the ceiling when I heard Denise scream. Jumping off my my bed I ran over to her room across the hall. There was a bright light coming from her room and I was worried about what was going on. Opening the door, I rush to Denise who is staring at a book we've had forever spilling out beams of light. The book hovered off the floor unclasping the lock.

The two of us stared in awe at the book in front of us. We've had this book ever since I could remember. Our parents didn't know anything about it, they just thought it was something that must have belonged to our real parents. There was a lock binding it closed that we could never get open.

After what seemed like hours, the book fell to the floor and the light started to fade away. I could see small trails of what seemed like smoke emitting from the cover. Carefully we crept toward it. Something pulled us closer to it, telling us to open it and read what was inside.
