Haley's POV

Getting into the car, I drive the two of us to school. The whole ride there was in silence. It wasn't much of a uncomfortable silence because both of us were still trying to wrap our heads around everything. As much as I tried to keep my focus on the rode in front of me, my mind would always wander off to the event's that happened this morning.

Once we arrived at school, I went and parked at our usual spot. Pulling my blazer closer to my body I tried my best to adjust to the cold air from outside.

"Well I guess I'll see you during lunch Denice." I told Haley. Slowly we got out of the car and headed inside the school building.

People crowded the halls as I made my way to my locker. Seemed like a lot of the latest gossip was about the play that was going on. Everywhere people talked about auditions and how they'd deffinetly be better for the part. On one occasion I heard someone say that Louis Tomlinson got the main guy role and his girlfriend, Olivia, got the main girl role.

I wasn't one to spread gossip, but I did enjoy listening to some here and there....Walking to my first class, advanced literature, I sat down in my seat close to the window. You could say I'm smart but I wouldn't be one to brag about it. Honestly I wouldn't consider myself too smart but that's deffinetly not what my test are saying ...

Pulling out a random piece of paper, I began to draw whatever came to mind. I was pretty good at drawing if I say so myself. It's just one of the few things I enjoy doing the most. Looking up I see Olivia walking in and taking her seat next to me.

"Hey Olivia." I say with a smile.

"Oh hey Haley. How you doing?" She asked smiling back. My heart broke as I got a thought that she and Louis might not last long...

"I'm doing pretty good as I say so myself, though I am a bit tiered from studying so late."

"Ugh..I know what you mean!" She laughed taking out her book. "I had to babysit my younger cousin and she wouldn't go to bed so I could do my work. It was pure torture!"

"Alright class open up to page 158 in your books!" Yelled out the teacher as class begun. I basically memorized everything in this chapter so there really wasn't much for me to do. Instead of paying attention I zoned out and kept on drawing.

Olivia wasn't a bas girl. She was actually really nice and I guess I'd consider her as a friend. We share quite a few classes together and it's nice to see her. What confuses me is why Louis would go for a girl like her. Not like there's anything bad with that, but it just seems a bit odd that someone so popular would go out with someone who wasn't as much. Maybe Im wrong and Louis isn't a jerk like all those other football(soccer) players.

He treats her well and isn't afraid to show his affection to her. Something inside is just screaming at me telling me that this love wont last. I hope he isn't doing this to just get into her pants. That would be so cruel and embarrass Olivia! They seem like they'd be perfect for each other with their high energy and sassy personalities. I'm sure that by the time the play is over, we'll see if this was truly made to last...

-Lunch-

After shoving all my books into my locker, I headed over to the cafeteria to meet up with Denice. We had Maths together but then we went to our separate classes again. Right now I really wished I shared more classes with her so that I could keep an eye on her due to what happened at home.

"Hey gurl!" Said Denice walking up to me. I'm glad she's still her silly self even with all that's been going on.

"Vas happeni'?!" I answered back. It was kind of our little joke...

"Want to go get some Nando's? I'm starved!" We burst out laughing as she began to pat her belly.

"Yeah sure let's go!" Nando's was only across the street but for some reason everyone pestered going to that new American place: McDonalds.

We ordered our food and ate it while we talked about our classes. It was genuinely nice that we avoided the topic about the Book completely. If we were going to have to do this mission thing, I wanted to enjoy the last bits of childhood I had left.

"Did you hear about the play?" Denice asked.

"Yeah Louis and Olivia have the main roles."

"I heard they were doing Grease, oh we just have to go Haley! I love that film!"

"Calm yo cheese balls, of course we can go!" I laughed as Denice did a fist bump in the air.

"Well I'm done. Want to head back a bit early...?" she asked.

"Sure." After throwing away our trash, we head back to the school. We decided to stop by the bathroom before class would start again. Louis and Olivia were just outside the bathroom. Looks like Olivia was trying to get him to just wait outside for her. She fliped her auburn hair a bit and walked in satisfaction into the bathroom.

Denice and I were about to go inside ourselves when she just stopped. Her face was pale and her breathing was shallow.

"Hey is your friend ok?" Asked Louis. He obviously didn't reconize us.

"Um yeah... I think she just may have had too much Nando's. Cmon let's go inside." I helped her walk into the bathroom which was kind of hard since she barely shuffled her feet. I had thought of using my telekinesis but decided it was too risky...

"Haley..." Denice's voice was scratchy.

"What's wrong Denice?" My voice was definetly filled with worry.

"H-he's part of it..." she barely whispered.

"Who? Louis?" I asked knowing that Olivia might be able to hear us. Denice only nodded. "Alright... explain to me later how you know this. Let's just get the school day over with." Letting out a loud sigh we walked back out and headed to our afternoon classes.

Gifter's POV

"What do you see Bree?" I asked the Teller. She gazed deeply into the dark sky.

"They've started the Task...Already figured quite a lot with the information they've acquired from the Book." She responded, er eyes still having a glossy look to them.

"How is my daughter?! Is she well? Are they still together?" The mother of Haley asked. I felt a bit of pity for the mother. Bree turned to her, the glossy look gone.

"She's doing very well. A beautiful daughter you have there. Much more beautiful than any other on that planet. Her abilities are quite controlled for one who has just found out about them. I can see her and the other girl getting close to getting the humans for her task. Not long until we'll be able to hear from them." The mother smiled and clung to her husband tightly.

"Are you sure there isn't a way we can contact them yet?" I heard the father of Denice ask. He was mildly timid, but that may only be since he was completely alone now.

"We have tried everything in our power. I'm sorry but Earth is just too far out of reach at the moment and with the girls just finding out about their abilities, it will be quite awhile longer until we can get anything." The man looked a bit disappointed.

"Can you sketch us any pictures Lady Bree?" Asked the other father. I could tell he was trying hard not to cry.

"Yes of course. I'll have them sent went they're done."

"Thank you very much." He said.

I gazed up back at the starts as I heard the footsteps of the parents quietly fade away... the girls have begun their Task. Now all that we could do is wait for its outcome.
