The train stopped and as soon as Mimzy saw the grinning face of her dearest friend she engulfed the thin woman in a bone crushing hug and partial deafness in her ears.

"OHHHHH I CANNOT BELIEVE YOUR ACTUALLY HERE JOSEPHINE!!!! IT'S BEEN FOREVER!!!!"

Josephine sighed heavily and gave a forced smile as her ribs were being crushed by the strength of her friend. "Good—to see you too—Mimzy. Can—can you let me go now—please it's getting hard to breathe?"

"Oh right sorry sorry! I'm just so excited! Not every week ya get a letter from your best friend up in Georgia saying that you're coming back here! How have you been?! Don't ya dare leave out any details I need to hear the lastest gossip?"

"Hahaha of course you do! I'm fine, bored mostly. That constant fear of that Doe-Eyed Killer making an appearance wherever I worked at was turning into quite the unwanted level of stress. I figured it was time to return to my roots and get away from all that. After all stress is bad for the ol' vocal chords."

Mimzy laughed and spoke with a knowing tone. "Oh honey I can definitely relate to that..."

Josephine's eyebrow arched. "Ohhh, and how so? Don't tell me you have a serial killer in your midst too Mimzy?"

"Sadly we do sugar, but according to Alastor that sicko only targets men. Ha thank God."

"Really...interesting and this Alastor fellow, is he your boyfriend?" Josephine smirked over Mimzy's bright red face.

"Ha I wish! The man's voice is a dream on the radio, a true time honored gentleman, but when it comes to romance he's a real fish out of water! I'm beginning to think he's romantically stunted as a child living out in that smelly ol' bayou for his entire life."

"Sorry Mimzy but it seems to me that he's not ready to commit."

"Oh hush it you. Soooo you have any luck in romance?"

"Seriously Mimz? No. Those that tried were either to drunk to stand or lost their teeth after they dared to lay a hand on me!"

"Ha glad to see you haven't changed! You hungry Josie? I know a wonderful cafe nearby."

"I could go for a bite to eat..." she stopped the moment they entered a familiar section of the city's French Quarter. "Wow it's...it's really been a long time since I came back but still everything is the same."

Mimzy smiled brightly and took her friends arm in hers. "Welcome Home Josie."

Alastor was walking around admiring the lovely day when he happened to notice Mimzy chatting away with a woman of dark complexion and getting a few stares by a few prejudice individuals. If it's one thing Alastor can't stand more than modernist technology it's prejudice views about skin tone! His ethnicity is mixed though people confused him as a white man that just tans easily, he's proud of his mixed Creole roots.

He figured he might as well introduce himself and further silence any commentary before it begins.

"Mimzy my dear I've been wondering where you run off to when not at work? Hahaha I see your taking a day off from singing to the adorning crowds?"

Mimzy had just taken a drink of her tea but spat out her tea as she screamed. "Oh Jesus Christ!"

"Aihhhhh Wrong answer my dear, try again!"

Mimzy's face turned murderous which was humorous to Josephine. "ALASTOR!"

Josephine watched as the plump, short blonde, woman stood up from her seat and proceeded to swat Alastor with the cafe menu.
