As Charlie stood on the balcony of her bedroom waiting for her parents and her uncles to join her she couldn't help reminiscing on the night she had revealed her wings and taken her first actual flight with her father.

Many centuries ago...

"Charlotte my dear, what are you doing out here...it's 10:00pm?"

Charlie whirled around, bracing her hands against her balcony railing. Her dad, Lucifer, had appeared behind her so suddenly, it gave her quite a shock.

"Dad! You scared me!" A 14 year old Charlie whined.

Lucifer eyed his daughter's trembling hands, taking note of her strange anxiety.

"Sorry, my little Candy Apple. I'll be sure to knock next time."

Lucifer walked over and leaned on the railing next to her, he was looking out into the depths of their Hellish kingdom.

"You have been awful quiet lately my dear. Your mother and I are worried about you," Lucifer said that with a gentle smile.

Charlie closed her eyes and shrugged. "Oh, I guess I haven't been getting enough sleep lately. I'm just tired."

Lucifer's eyes narrowed sharply and glowed softly as his head immediately turned to face her. He was the King of Hell. He could sense a sinner's deceit before they even had the chance to unlatch their foul jaws. But the being standing rather cautiously before him, was not a loathsome sinner. This was his daughter, and she was hiding something from him.

Charlie's legs were shaking as she refused to look at him now. Her hands were white knuckled against the railing of the balcony. He chose against ratting her out on her deceit in favor of the long game.

"Well, in that case Charlie, off to bed with you! Chop chop!" Lucifer cheerfully clapped.

Charlie stepped back in surprise that her father dropped the subject so quickly...she turned to him and immediately gulped in dread.

He was dropping it—for now. She had no doubt in her mind that he'd question her about this tomorrow morning.

Lucifer leaned forward and kissed his daughter's face until she giggled out of embarrassed annoyance. "Daddy, come on! Stop it!!! I'm not five years old anymore!!!"

Lucifer laughed and pulled back. "You'll always be my little girl wether you like it or not!" He snapped his apple cane into existence and gave her a polite bow. "I shall see you tomorrow morning sweetheart. Get some sleep! I had better not see any bags under those eyes in the morning!"

"Alright, daddy. Love you."

Charlie didn't sleep a wink. In fact, she deliberately kept herself up, merely waiting two hours in bed after her father's visit with her eyes glaring up at the ceiling. Hell doesn't have a definite daytime-nighttime system. Sure the sky's darken and brighten, but to say that it's connected to whenever her father goes to bed or wakes up in the morning is just a silly rumor made up by silly demons and their crazy theories. Her father has a messed up sleep schedule and work is a pain in the ass that he oftentimes complains about during dinner. Other times mother is to blame...she'd rather not go down that thought process.

Besides everyone in Hell just does whatever the Hell they want whenever they want.

Charlie however, was adamant about her sleep schedule, but it certainly wasn't happening for her tonight.

Even if she did try to sleep right now, she knew it was just going to be a futile effort. The situation at hand had her more nervous than she's ever been in her entire life.
