Author's Note: For clarification on why Lilith will appear to be higher than a kite is simple.

She's drugged up on painkillers and the fading anesthesia—as Azrael will say:

"ITS HILARIOUS!"

Inserts cackling crow laughter at Lilith's expense!

Lilith was floating—well not "floating" in a literal sense anyway—her body just felt all tingly. It wasn't that irritating pins and needles kind of sensation, more like a warm soothing hum all over her body.

She tried to open her eyes but it felt like something was always keeping her in dreamland. Her subconscious mind was clouded in a listless dreamlike haze.

Scenes played out in her head like a scrapbook...a long forgotten song was the soundtrack to this strange little storybook dream. She's heard Lucifer singing this song, within the depths of his grief as their souls longed to be together. On the days and night when their forced separation grew to agonizing for him to bare he'd follow her example and sing all alone in Purgatory for hours on end.

During those moments where all other method of conversational release are unappealing to him, and when he simply desired to be alone without his elder siblings there to comfort/hover over him like a swarm of concerned honeybees, Lucifer would sit alone. Well, with Azrael as his silent warden of course, and sing this sad little song. He'd sing his heart out, knowing full well how far his voice would travel within the empty expanse of Purgatory and behind him into epicenter of Heaven...

He never knew that whenever he sang—that all of his siblings would all immediately stop whatever they were doing to listen to his somber lyrics. To pay their respects to the mortal woman that made him feel alive and happy about himself than they could've ever begun to realize; as well as to mourn alongside him over their own failure for not being able to help him through this emotional pain he was suffering from. A song that left Gabriel crying in his room clinging to Lucifer's White Dove stuffed animal as if it could possibly help him to comfort his baby brother's grief.

But Lucifer's pain was so immense that he was willingly digging himself into a psychological grave...until the day he finally snapped and was cast out of Heaven.

{Verse 1: Lucifer}

Walking through the heart of the fire
It's hard to keep moving forward
Living with my life on a wire
Again
