Being married was wonderful! Waking up to Alastor every morning was like a dream. Seeing him playing with strands of her hair as a soft smile graced his features only helped to remind her of how lucky she was to have him in her life.

There was one problem though. The guns. He kept them stored away but when the fall hunting season rolled around he was getting antsy to practice his aim. But every time he fires the shotgun at his targets Josephine would have a screaming panic attack. She's gotten better with them now, but Alastor still felt guilty about reminding her of such a horrific memory from her past. Thunderstorms didn't help her calm down either during nightmares about that night when her father was killed.

Alastor murmured soothingly. "I can stay with you. I...we can always fish and go gator hunting?"

"No Alastor, we need the venison. I'll be fine." She curled up into his arms and squeaked in fear as a boom of thunder shook the house.

"I've got you darling. I just hate reminding you of that night."

"It's not you holding the gun that frightens me Alastor, I actually find that crazed grin you have before you leave rather...attractive..."

"Ohhhh is that so?" He snaked his hands underneath the blanket cave and burrowed himself inside her little blanket fortress with his hands holding her hips

"Ohhhh is that so?" He snaked his hands underneath the blanket cave and burrowed himself inside her little blanket fortress with his hands holding her hips.

"Then...what frightens you my darling?"

"...it's the sound of the gunshot."

A loud boom of thunder sent her closing her eyes in tears and Alastor pulled her closer as he sat on his knees with her head pressed against his chest. "Listen to my heart. Focus on the rhythm. It beats for you my love."

Josephine smiled softly and snuggled into his arms. "I'll bring home a handsome buck for you to admire...and if I see someone disgracing a carcass I'll turn him into mincemeat pie!"

She laughed happily and kissed him moaning deeply as he guided her back down into their bed. He stared down at her with lust and kissed her lips with a passionate growl. "I know how to help you sleep like Snow White...and it isn't a poisoned apple..."

Later on...

He was panting heavily and growled against her ear and thrusts in a rhythm. He whispers.

"Josephine... I know you're worried about Clyde... I know that's why you're having more and more nightmares recently."

"He's gone insane Alastor...I don't know if we should continue killing people? He'll find out one day if we're not careful you've had a few close calls. Had I not been there with you those men would've gotten away and blabbed your secret to everyone who would dare to listen. He'd kill you."

"Then...what are you suggesting we do? We'll get the itch to kill again it's like an addiction. Hard to break."

"We...can try." He groaned deeply as he increases the speed of his thrusts.

"I know that but why now? Why bring this up now?"

"I...ever think about starting a family Alastor?"

"I...are you?"

"No...I thought I was but...no."

He saw the tear fall and he kissed her lips softly and then increased his rhythm tenfold and growled loudly as he gave her everything he had with a promise. "One day Josephine. I'll see you smiling over our child calling you mother."

He smiled softly and kissed her lips again as the euphoria wore off and sleep overcame them.

If only it could have lasted...

A gunshot sounded in the night it was two days before hunting season and Alastor was quick to dress and grab his gun. "Al No please! Don't go out there!"

"That was to close to our house Josephine I have to chase this bastard off our land. I'll be back Josephine...I promise."

"Alastor...please."

"Oh my sweet Georgia Belle. I'll return to you. I'm the best hunter out there in that swamp. However this bastard will pay with his life."

"Be...please be safe out there. I don't have a good feeling about this Alastor."

"I know but I'll come home to you...I won't leave you. I swear it on my soul!"

He would be proven wrong.
