Lauren

This is it, it's homecoming and Alex and I's last day of high school. I get out of bed and go to the shower before getting dressed in this.

I lay out my dress for tonight before driving to school. I get there and Alex walks up to me.

"Last day." He says

"Last day," I say back and look at him

"When do we need to leave tonight?" Alex asks

"I think we can get a couple of dances in before we have to hightail it to Las Vegas," I reply

"Okay, I'll see you at the line-up." Alex smiles

"We're getting called out in like half an hour." I laugh

"I know, but I won't see you till then." He points out

I laugh and give Alex a kiss on the cheek. About 25 minutes into the first hour, Mr. Daniels comes over to the PA system.

"Will all football players, marching band members, cheerleaders, and Lauren Pearce either load the buses or drive yourselves over to the parade line up?" He asks

I smile at my classmates and walk out of the classroom. I meet Alex out in the parking lot.

"I have a surprise for you." He says

"What is it?" I ask

Alex takes my hand and leads me to a brand new Ram Rebel.

"I bought it last night, figured we could hit the road in style," Alex says

"You bought a truck." I beam

"Yeah and we better get goin' before we're late," Alex replies

I go to the passenger side and get in. I adjust my seat and pull my phone out. We get to the courthouse and begin to line up. I squeeze in between Alex and Chris. Jamie gets out of the truck and I look at him.

"Is there any way to block the smokestacks so I don't blow black smoke on everybody?" He asks

"We shouldn't be moving that fast when we go to actually line up, let me see what I can do," I tell him

I bail off the trailer and climb up in the cab of the truck. I find two wood blocks and get out of the cab. I climb up on the hood of the truck and put the blocks in the smokestacks. I get down and the whole football team is looking at me.
