Lauren

Hallelujah, I got Clint's truck fixed. Then city boy showed up and well, let's see if I can run this one-off. Once I get back inside the house, I hope in the shower and then change into this.

I then walk down from my room, to the kitchen to start lunch for everyone. Yeah, okay, I know what you're thinking, who's everyone? Well my family has a ranch, it's not too big, but we have horses and cows, we also hold some of the biggest ridin' events in the state. I'm making too many sandwiches when Josh, one of our ranch hands, walks up to me.

"Hey, is it too late to get in on the Bronc ridin' tonight?" He asks

"Let me look," I say and pull out my binder with all the events and competitors in it

"Looks like we have one spot in Bronc ridin' left, so it's all yours." I smile

I write Josh's name down in the last spot and then hand him a glass of sweet tea.

"You should invite the new neighbors over for the rodeo tonight," Josh tells me

"Sure, but they're city people," I reply

"Don't care, they need to get used to our kind of Friday nights." Josh smiles

"I'll get right on it." I force out

"Oh and take these out to everyone, I'll be back," I add

I walk outside and jump in my truck before driving over to the neighbor's house.

Alex

I'm just kinda generally laying on the floor since we don't have furniture yet when there's this noise outside. Being the curious guy I am, I pick myself up and walk outside. I see Lauren from earlier talking to my parents.

"What's going on here?" I ask

"Lauren here was just asking us if we wanted to come to the rodeo over at her house tonight." My dad tells me

"I think we should go." My mom says

I look at them wide-eyed and force a smile.

"In fact, Alex, why don't go over and help set up." Mom adds

I nearly choked on my own saliva.

"S-sure," I reply

"Great, then we'll be over at what did you say 6." My dad says
