Okay, the first part of the pep rally was amazing and when I went to help Lauren down from the truck bed, she didn't protest. Then she sat on my lap when we moved to the football field, that surprised me more than anything, but I chose not to say something about the situation. Lizzy gives me a look and I smile back at her.
"You do know there are empty seats next to us, right," I say
"I know, but it's really hot out here, and have you seen the shorts I'm wearing?" Lauren asks
I look down and realize that Lauren's shorts are very short.
"I'm lettin' you off the hook this time, but next time, it's gonna be different," I reply jokingly
"Besides why weren't you like this when you were in the bed of the truck?" I ask
"We wetted them down so we wouldn't burn," Lauren replies
"That parts true." Lizzy pipes up
The band starts playing and we shut up so we can hear. We spend the rest of the day playing games and talking with friends.
