Lauren

I walk into Josh's room and take a good look at him. He spots me and his eyes light up.

"Hey, sugar." I smile

"Lauren, it feels like it's been days." Josh exaggerates

"It's been less than eight hours." I laugh

"I know, now plant one," Josh says and points to his forehead

I laugh and kiss his head, only then does Josh notice, Alex.

"So, city boy, did you have fun last night?" He asks

"Surprisingly, yeah, I did," Alex replies

"I talked to my parents last night," I say

"And." Josh motions for me to continue

"And they're flying in tonight, you also don't have to worry about medical bills," I add

His face lights up and I give him a gentle hug.

"I got your six." I smile and walk out of the room

All of a sudden my phone starts going crazy. Mack is calling me.

"What?" I ask

"The truck broke down, we need you to bring the other big truck," Mack tells me

"Where are you guys?" I ask, running to my truck

"Biggest field," Mack says

"We'll be there in 20," I say and hang up

"What's going on?" Alex asks

"You're gonna learn how to hitch a truck to a trailer," I say and start driving

Alex gives me a look and I continue.

"Look, you showed up, just before the fourth of July and in the middle of hay season, and you're with me, no sittin' around." I smile

20 minutes later, we're at the big field and I see all my boys and my friends. The trailers loaded, but the tie-down straps aren't on and the truck is over at the side, with a couple of guys working on it.

"Mack, get me up there," I say pointing to the top of the load

"I got 'cha girly," Mack says and gets the tractor

Alex

I watch as Lauren steps onto the bucket thingy on the tractor and gets risen up to the top of the bail things and steps off.

"How often does she do that?" I ask Lizzy

"Oh, every summer, that's the way those tie down straps is made, they hook at the top, not the other side," Lizzy tells me

I watch as Lauren fixes the last strap and steps back into the bucket on the tractor.

"You've never seen anything like this, have you?" Lizzy asks

"No, never," I say

"C'mon, I'm gonna show you how to do the most important part," Lizzy says

"Okay," I reply and get in the passenger seat

"JAMIE, SPOT ME!" Lizzy yells out the window

I give a look of confusion. We go backward in the truck until we come to a sudden halt. Lizzy opens her door and gets out, I do the same.

"Watch us carefully," Jamie says

I nod my head and watch what they're doing. Very slowly, the thing on the trailer connects to the thing on the truck.
