Chapter Seven

I shut the front door behind me as quietly as possible in an attempt to sneak back into the house unnoticed. When I turned around I came face to face with, what looked to be, a very distraught mother.

"Ava, oh my goodness." Gushed my mum in a whirlwind of panic, while scanning my body to see if I was hurt. "Where were you!?"

I sighed, it didn't look like I would be getting away with my nightly escapade.

"I just went to the forest," I explained, "I don't know, it felt like my wolf wanted me to go there,"

"And why didn't you come back this morning? Do you know what the time is?" She frantically questioned.

My eyes traveled up the wall and to the clock and widened when they saw was 8:00am. School was about to start!

"I went to wake you up but you were nowhere to be seen. I thought someone had kidnapped you!" She exclaimed

"I'm sorry, I met a wolf and ended up falling asleep on the grass. I felt safe with him." I said.

I thought the wolf must have been a boy, although I don't really have anything to compare it to.

"But I don't know if it was a boy or not," I gushed when I saw her eyes widen.

"Do you know how unsafe it is to be sleeping with wolves, boy or girl, in those woods?" she asked. "There are rogues in that wood for heavens sake Lucy," she exclaimed, sounding very exasperated. "You're just lucky the one you came across wasn't a wolf who might've wanted to hurt you."

"Anyway, we'll talk about this later you have to get ready for school," She said shooing me up the stairs.

As I walked to my room I couldn't help but think about the wolf I met in the woods. There was something familiar about it... Anyway I'd talk to Sam about it later. Right now I had to get ready.

I threw on a short floral dress that flattered my shape. I had a good body, and I knew it, so I might as well show it. Plus it would probably piss off the popular girls. I threw my hair up into a messy bun and hastily put on some mascara before running down stairs and bolting out the door, shouting goodbye to my mum.

When I arrived just about every boy looked at me with lust. All the girls were staring as well probably thinking I was the next up and coming slut. I didn't care, I was allowed to wear what I wanted.

I saw Sam at the lockers, quickly ran over to her and jumped her from behind. I laughed when she gasped in shock.

"Don't do that Lucy, you scared the hell out of me." She said grabbing her books from her locker and turning around.

"Good morning to you too," I said as we walked to my locker and I grabbed my books as well.

There was an energetic bounce to my step as we walked down the crowded corridor and Sam immediately noticed it.

"What's got you so happy?" she said eyeing me skeptically.

We stopped at the bathroom door, so I glanced around and dragged her in.

"Okay, you can't tell anyone, but I slept with a wolf in the woods." I whispered excitedly.

"WHAT!?" She screeched, I clamped my hand over her mouth and gestured for her to be quieter.

"Do you know how dangerous that is?" she gushed.

"Oh my god, you sound just like my mum," I said, as I let out a little laugh at her astonished expression. "I don't know, it just felt like I had a connection with it. I couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl, I don't have anything to compare it to."

"I'll let you know later," she said as we walked out of the bathroom and into a deserted corridor.

"Crap, we're late," she exclaimed as we ran our separate ways.

"Come to my house after school," I shouted to her.

"Sure," she replied disappearing around a corner.

Just as I was about to reach my class, some voices echoed in my head.

"I wonder who it was... I need to speak to the alpha... Maybe she's my mate..."

I needed to get these voices under control, and fast!
