It felt like the room was spinning around me. I couldn't move any of my muscles in my body at all. Shots of agonizing pain occurred whenever I tried to move. I felt something wet hitting my face, it kept repeating after every 10 seconds.
Finally, I was able to open my eyes to be met with water hitting my eyes. I immediately shut them tight and launched my body up from the person's lap. I wiped my eyes and looked up to see Chris, with a concerned look on his face. The rag in his hand dripped with water from the ocean, no wonder why my eyes burned.
I got up and stepped back from him, but failed when I fell back down to the ground. I needed to stay away from him as soon as possible, he mentioned that word. He made me feel so vulnerable and weak, no one ever saw me like this.
"Alice? Are you okay?" He said, trying to reach out to me,
"STAY AWAY" I said, starting to go for my pistol,
"Alice, I only want to help you out." He said, still trying to come over to me,
"I swear to God, take one more step closer to me, and I will shoot you in your fucking leg!" I yelled, pointing my gun to his right leg.
He stopped moving and I put my gun to the side of me, in case he moved from where he was. I tried to calm down my breathing. Thinking about happy memories doesn't work for me, I didn't know what else to do but breathe in and out. Chris just sat there and just watched me, he didn't speak, just watched.
When I feel my heartbeat go down and my breathing regulated, I picked up my gun and stood up. Chris still didn't move, afraid of getting a bullet put through his leg.
"You can move now" I said,
He then rushed over to me and placed a hand on my back, trying to make me more comfortable. We didn't speak or mutter out any sort of sentence, word, or sound. Just touched.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He said, his hand still on my back. I removed his hand started to walk towards the crates.
"I take it that you're feeling better" He said, walking right behind me. I grabbed a crowbar nearby and made a attempt to open it up.
"Here, let me help you with that. That looks hard to do." He said. He put his hands on the crowbar, his left hand met with my right hand and something went off inside of me. It felt good. What was he doing to me that made me feel happy all of the sudden? Am I supposed to push it away, or embrace it?
It was all too new for me, I didn't know what the hell to do with it. I gave him a small smile and moved my hand away so he can try to pry open the crate. The crate finally broke and I looked inside and I saw the supplies inside. A variety of guns, knives, arrows, and a stack of rope.
"Perfect" I said, luckily the crates weren't too heavy and was easy for me to carry. I grabbed 2 and Chris grabbed 2. the other 3 boxes are for #5672 and other Zones that need them.
"Thank you Chris. For helping me back there, and with the crates" I said,
"Anytime Alice. Where are you staying for the night?" He said. I didn't know that nightfall was coming.
"I was hoping to stay at #5672 for the night." I said, a bit sadly. I didn't want to leave him though, what?
"You can come stay with me for the night if you want. I'm not forcing you to" He said, since I don't want to hear him to ramble.
"How about you and I go to #5672 and drop off the materials and then we can go somewhere?" I said, hoping for a yes,
"Okay, we can do that" He said.
It put a smile on my face, I hope I can feel this feeling more often.
