Revolution of the Apocalypse

Chapter 17

James and Alice were completely inseparable. Where ever they went, they went with each other. After the Clinic burned down to the ground, James didn't want nothing from no one. He felt like he was going stir crazy from being held in the protection of his home. He has no other choice, he wants his daughter to be safe.

"Daddy can I go out and play?" He heard from above him, Alice came down the staircase and onto her Daddy's lap.

"Sweetheart, we can't go outside, there are strange things out in this world, and I don't you getting hurt" He said,

"But Daddy, just for a few minutes. Please?" Alice said, giving her Dad the puppy eyes. James sighed, he can't say no to those eyes.

"Ok sweetie, but just for a little bit" He said. Alice squealed and got up from Daddy's lap and rushed to the door. James couldn't get out of the house because he barricaded the doors from the inside and the outside. He went over to the window and took a deep breath and unlocked the window. He slid it open and climbed out, he held out his hand so Alice can climb out.

"Watch your step Alli" He said as Alice climbed out. As soon as Alice's feet touched the grassy ground, she ran around in circles as if she was princess who was freed from a tower. James smelt something horrible in the air, it smelt like rotting flesh and blood. It's been a long time since he's been outside, the smell is so foreign, it almost knocked him out.

Alice didn't mind it at all. All that mattered is that she's outside so she can play with her friends. She had a couple of toys in her small pink purse that she carried around.

"Daddy, can I go down the street and see if Jayci and Julia want to play?" Alice asked her dad,

"Yea, just make sure that their home, make sure you have your gun with you, and makes sure you are home by dark" James said. He watched as Alice walked down the street, clutching her purse. James smiled, with all of the shit that's going on in the world now, his daughter is still happy.

Alice walked down the street and knocked on Jayci and Julia's door, hoping that they can play with her today. It's been a long since the three of them played with each other. Julia opened the door and start to scream. Jayci joined in on the screaming as the three of them got in a group hug. Their parents came out and smiled.

As the play date started to come to a close, the sun was about to set and Alice said good bye to her 2 best friends. She started to walk her away home and then all of the sudden, she heard someone screaming as she got closer to her house. She carefully climbed in through the window and shut it.

"GET AWAY FROM ME YOU DIRTY BASTARD!" She heard coming from the garage. She walked to the door of her garage and opened it. Her dad and some creature were fighting, the creature looked hideous and it was trying to bite her dad. She screamed and shut the door and ran upstairs to her room. She slammed the door shut and rummaged around her room, trying to look around her room for some more ammo. Nothing was found in her closet, she checked in her bed and there was a small package with just enough.

She grabbed her gun and reloaded and rushed back downstairs to help her dad. She gathered all the courage she could and kicked the door open. She aimed for the creature's head and shot at the target. It let out a ear bleeding scream, but Alice kept shooting till it laid limp on the floor.

"Daddy, are you okay?" Alice asked, but then she gasped. Her father's neck was severely bleeding from a bite mark.

"Alice, my sweet sweet angel. This world is a cruel place to live in. I've taught you so well to hunt and to shoot. You are the best thing I can ever ask for." james said, looking into his daughter's eyes.

"Daddy we need to get you patched up. Come on, get up." She said,

"I can't get patched up Alli. I'm gonna turn into one of those terrible creatures. Alli, I don't want to be like those things" James said,

"Ok Daddy, we will just have to do something" Alice said, trying to hold back her tears.

"Alice honey" James said, Alice looked into her dad's eyes,

"I need you to shoot me" He said

"No Daddy, I'm not gonna shoot you. You said that it's for emergency purposes only." Alice said, a couple of her tears falling down.

"Alice, I've raised you. I know this is hard for you. But please shoot me. Do it for your own father." James said,

Alice couldn't keep the tears in anymore. The tears came down like a waterfall. She raised her gun.

"Daddy? Are you sure this is what you want?" Alice said,

"Of course it is my darling. My sweet little Alli is finally growing up. Please take care of yourself and don't become one of those things" James said.

Alice couldn't stop crying. Her own father wants her to take his life. If that's what he wants, he will get his wish. Alice raised her gun again.

"Alice Marie Cambridge, I love you so much" James said.

"I love you too Daddy" Alice looked away.
