The train ride was some what quiet. No one made a noise at all. The only noises that were made was the train whistle and the rattle of the cars. Rocky, Matthew, and Trevor kept looking at Chris and I. Sometimes they were giving us evil stare downs and glares. I decided to keep my mouth shut, I'm not going to let them ruin my happiness.
Dinner time came around the corner and Damien sent the chef to tell us what they have for us to eat. Turns out, they still have some of the parts of the uncooked deer that I hauled with us on our last train ride. They went back to the kitchen car and started to cook the rest of the deer.
"Where did you get the necklace?" Matthew said, leaning up from his seat to get a better view of my father's token.
"It was from my father" I said, trying not to get in too much detail of my Father's tragic passing.
Matthew closed the conversation, knowing that I don't want to continue talking about it.
14 minutes later, the smoked deer came out on a giant platter. Me and Chris shared a plate and the others had a separate plate of their own. I got the special parts of the deer, it's heart and it's liver. My eyes rolled to the back of my head as I let out a "MM."
A couple of minutes later, everyone was stuffed, especially me. I grabbed our plate and walked to the kitchen car, with caution. The chefs thanked me and I thanked them back for the delicious meal that they made for us. They smiled and I walked out of the door. I looked up at the sky and the half moon was out.
The stars twinkled and shined while the moon gracefully glowed. I gave myself a little smile, it looked so beautiful. It's a shame that it's gonna go away, but you got to enjoy it while it lasts. I went back inside and saw Chris lightly snoring. I grabbed my blanket from my backpack and put it on top of him.
I turned around and I see the 3 of them looking at me.
"What?" I said,
"How come all of the sudden he's tagging along with us?" Rocky said, cocky bitch.
"Because I want him to come with us. Why is that a bad thing?" I said, my voice started to rise.
"Kinda. We don't even know one thing about him" Matthew said,
"You guys don't know him like I do. I need somebody like him in my life." I said,
"You have Gabe, he's always with you 24/7" Trevor said,
"Gabe is like my brother, I don't have feelings for him" I said,
"You're meaning to tell me that you have feelings for him?" Matthew exclaimed,
"I do. And if you have a problem about it, then you guys can fuck off" I said, tears in my eyes.
I stomped out of the train car, slamming the door on my way out. I walked to the caboose and look at the moon and the stars. I shed a couple tears, why can't they see that he makes me so happy? Behind me, I hear the door open and close.
"Alice? We're sorry" a voice too familiar said,
"Look guys, he just makes me really happy. He reminds me of my father. I had to kill my father when I was younger. Chris helps me remind myself that my Dad is proud of who I am, and no matter what happened in my past, Chris will always love me. No matter what happens" I said.
My eyes still teary, I turn to look at them and they looked at me with such sadness. Rocky even had tears in her eyes, she lost her parents in a fire and she couldn't do anything about it. Rocky came over and gave me a hug and we both cried on our shoulders. Matthew and Trevor joined in and we stayed like this for a couple of minutes.
We got out of the hug and walked back to our car. When we cam back in. Chris wasn't sleeping, he was wide awake.
"Guys, this is Chris, Chris these are my troops Rocky, Trevor, and Matthew." I said.
Chris went to put his hand out to shake their hands, but instead they gave him hugs. Chris smiled and gladly took them. Thank goodness everyone is happy.
