Gabe nodded his head, confirming his orders I gave him. Since the day I got registered, Gabe stuck by my side as a friend. And nothing more. Gabe does have a slight crush on me, but I'm not interested.
There's a war out there, the last thing I need is to have a relationship with someone. Gabe completely understands. He's not ready for a relationship either, even though he has asked other girls in the zone to go watch the stars at the lookout tower.
"Now Gabe, if you excuse me, I have to finish packing for the trip then I'll be on my way" I said,
"Your wish is my command Madame" Gabe said, with that smug ass smirk on his face. I usher him out the door, and look out the window to see him strolling of to the Mess Hall for lunch.
"Madame? You must be thinking of somebody else" I said, even though I'm by myself and nobody can hear me. I go to my secret drawer and grab my anxiety pills for my little flare ups.
Since each Quarantine Zone has a different uniform, you must arrive to that specific Zone with its correct uniform on. If the uniform is incorrect, you'll be considered as an "Outsider" and be taken custody of the Zone authorities, and be put through numerous hours of labor and torture.
A soldier, Cayce Barr, went to Quarantine Zone #1675 without his pass and uniform, he was sentenced to 70 hours in unstable punishment. He did his time, then came back to his original Quarantine all beefed up like he just stepped out of prison. The punishment made him go insane, he ended up leaving his troop behind in a mission, he was never found again.
I pack my outfit for Quarantine #5672. I check around my cabin, to check to see if I haven't missed any essentials. I did ok on packing. I grabbed my jacket, and my bag and headed off.
I stop by the Supply Vault to say goodbye to Chuck. Chuck still isn't happy with my choice of leaving the Zone, but he can't change my mind.
"Good luck to you Miss. Alice" Chuck says, giving me a bow,
"Chuck, I'm the leader. Not the Queen of England. You don't have to bow" I scoffed,
"You're extremely brave Miss. Alice, you deserve it" Chuck said.
I thanked Chuck and walked away. I went to Rocky's hut to see if she's ready to go. Rocky came out with her backpack and weapon belt.
"I packed whatever's useful in the woods." Rocky said,
I nodded, trying to gather Trevor and Matthew quickly so we can get the hell outta here.
Trevor was hanging out with Matthew at his hut, so it saved us some time. We all walked to the Main Entrance as a group.
As we walked, every soldier watched us leave for the journey. They formed a single filed line, and bowed. Showing us their support for a return, we nodded and passed the Entrance.
A few steps away from the Entrance, the sound of feet scattering from the soldiers come from the Zone as they go back to training.
There's no going back now. We're on our way.
