As Chris and I start to walk to #5672, the sun sets with a beautiful pinkish orange with a tint of yellow. The sunrises and sunsets are the only beautiful thing around now, I always like to admire them. Ever since The Infected took over town and the vaccine failure, the sun is the only prettiest thing that comes around now and then.
As we reach the Checkpoint, they let me proceed, for Chris however, its a different story.
"Sir you can't go through here without a Registration Pass" the 11 year old said,
"Look, I don't go here, I'm just helping her out" Chris said,
"Yeah guys, just let him through. He's not bitten. Just let him through" I said, keeping my temper down,
"Fine then, you got 5 minutes to get in and get the hell out" he said,
The guard let him pass and gave me a bold stare, who the fuck does he think he's looking at? I continued to walk and saw absolutely nobody around. I wonder where is everybody, but then again it is getting to be at least 8 o' clock. I then saw Trevor and called his name.
"Hey Trevor, can you take these?" I said loudly, trying to get his attention. Trevor than looked over at me and rushed over to get the crate out of my hands. He ran inside and then a few seconds later he came back out and grabbed the other crate out of Chris' hands and just looked at him.
Trevor dropped the crate grabbed his knife, my eyes widen and pushed Trevor to the ground. Is he serious? Does he really want to stab somebody that was just helping me out?
"HEY WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" I yelled, grabbing the knife out of Trevor's hand.
"Who is he? Why is he helping you?" Trevor said,
"You think I can carry 2 heavy crates all the way over here? With the Infected around here, I could've gotten bitten with my back turned" I said, sticking up for Chris.
Trevor just stared and gotten up and snatched the dagger out of my hand.
"I'm sorry man, I though you were bitten and you were after our leader for her blood. Believe man, she's not afraid to shed it either, so just watch it." He said, with a dumb smirk on his face.
"I hope you realize your not funny at all Trevor. Your acting like Matthew more and more everyday." I said,
"Well anyways, lets get you inside of the-"
"I'm actually going to walk around with my friend here, Chris. Don't worry if I don't show up tonight" I said,
"Just be careful tonight. And Chris? Keep my leader safe from anything that bites living flesh" Trevor said and walked back inside of a private cabin.
We walked away and pass the Checkpoint. The guard still glared at us but I didn't give a shit. Let him glare at us, it's a waste of his time.
"So Chris where are we going?" I said, looking at the dirt beneath my feet,
"I actually don't live in a Qurantine Zone like you and your other soldiers do, I live in a house on some street." He said,
"So you don't train or anything?" I said,
"I don't have to. I know how to shoot. I know how to set up shelter. I do know how to prevent getting killed" He said,
I just nodded. We turned down the dirt path and went by a couple of streets. We then go down a familiar street. It looks too familiar, I don't know if I remember this place but I feel like I should.
