I raced back to my cabin, holding back the anxiety building up in me. I shut the door from behind me, and breathed in and out.
Gabe knows not to call me Alli. Everybody here in the quarantine knows not to call me Alli. I reach in my secret drawer and grab my anxiety pills and take them with a glass of tap water. I swallow them, trying not to remember that day. As the anxiety slowly left me, I sit on my bed and wipe away the few little tears that rolled down my face.
A knock from the other side of my door rippled through the silence of my room. I cleared my throat, to hide the weakness.
"Who's there?" I said,
"Miss Alice, we need to have a emergency meeting ASAP, it's really important." said the voice,
I opened the door to reveal the supplies mangager of our quarantine zone, Chuck "What's the meeting about? I'm pretty busy" I said,
Chuck led me to the supply vault, where all of our weapons were stored. Guns, Knifes, Bows, and Rope have been hard to find since the disease spread out. There are only certain places that sell them, some of them places are across the rest of United States. The nearest place near our quarantine zone is Quarantine #5672.
"Miss Alice, we are surprisingly running out of ammo, guns, knifes, and arrows. We need to plan a trip to gather what we need before the Battle. Miss, I suggest you should send a team out to gather our necessities." Chuck explained,
"Chuck, I can go myself to get what we need. I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself. I'm not risking the upcoming soldiers to get turned out there." I said, standing up from my seat.
"But if you get bitten, we would lose our Leader, we need you. We can't risk it." Chuck explained.
I said thank you to Chuck and left the vault. The upcoming soldiers aren't ready yet, they still need training. I grabbed the microphone and announced over the loud speaker
"Attention please, All of the soldiers please report to the Main Foyer, again all Soldiers please report to the Main Foyer"
I look and see everyone obeying my orders. I walk to the foyer and see everybody, Chuck, and Gabe. Everyone applauds me as I walk up to the front.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm sorry to announce that we are running severely low on supplies. The Infected will be here any day now, we lost their trackings on our radar, we need to prepare for the worst. I'm going to send out a team of 4, 3 others and me included" I said,
Everyone gasped, I watched Chuck put his head in his hands in disappointment.
