three days later...

"Ready to go, babe?" Dalton asked. I nodded and stood up. After spending eight days in the hospital, I could finally go back home. Gosh, how I missed my dogs.

"Baby, can we visit Lindsay and Delilah before leaving?" I asked.

"Sure, let's go."

We walked along the hospital hallway and went to their room, knocking on the door.

"Come in," I heard Lindsay's voice.

"Hi girls."

"Oh my gosh, you're back!" Lindsay squealed.

"I promised you," I smiled.

"Wait, you're going home?" she asked, noticing I was dressed nicely. I nodded.

"I'll be all alone, 'cause Delilah's leaving tonight," Lindsay pouted as her eyes started to water.

"Don't cry, sweetie," I pulled her into a hug, "you'll get better soon, I promise. Stay strong, okay? For me?"

She wiped her tears away and nodded.

"I'm so proud of you," I told her, making her smile.

"You too, Delilah," I pulled her into a hug. We spent about half an hour together until it's time for me to go.

"Girls, it's time for me to leave, we'll meet again, okay?"

"I'll miss you," Delilah hugged me.

"I'll miss you too, girls, get well soon," I returned the hug. Dalton and I left the hospital and went to the car.

"From the way you comforted Lindsay, I can tell you're going to be a really good mom," Dalton smiled.

"And you're going to be the best dad," I smiled. He leaned in and kissed my lips. Once we pulled away, he started the car and drove back home. He opened the car door and picked me up.

"No, baby, I'm getting heavy," I pouted.

"I don't care, I love you," he smiled. My heart melted. He's such a cutie.

"I love you too," I smiled. He opened the door and carried me inside. He carefully placed me down on the couch before snuggling right next to me. Toulouse and Myron jumped on my lap, being careful not to squish my bump. I haven't seen them in a while. When I was stuck in the hospital, I had to ask Frankie to look after them.

"Let's watch a movie," I suggested.

"Sure, what movie?"

"Harry Potter?" I suggested.

"Sure, baby," he smiled. I decided to choose Harry Potter and the Order Of Phoenix. I selected the movie and played it. I snuggled next to Dalton, placing my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arm around my waist.

"This reminds me of the day before I asked you to be my girlfriend," Dalton smiled.

"Remember when we watched Harry Potter and you placed your head on my shoulder like this? You were really shy about it," he smiled as he ran his fingers through my hair.

"Yeah," I blushed a little, "we were both really shy around each other and I just couldn't stop blushing whenever you called me cute."

"Time flies so fast, now we're engaged, and in a few months, we'll get married and welcome our little one," he smiled and placed his hand on my stomach. Soon, I felt my baby starting to kick. The little kicks felt a little stronger than before.

"She's kicking," I smiled, placing my hand on my stomach to feel the little kicks from the outside. I felt the little kicks as my attention went back to the movie.

In the middle of the movie, I heard little snores coming from Dalton. Usually, I wouldn't let anyone sleep during Harry Potter, but he's just way too cute. He was sleeping with his hand still on my stomach. Poor baby, he looked really exhausted by the sleepless nights at the hospital.

I continued to watch the movie until it finally came to an end. I picked up the remote and turned off the TV. I played with Dalton's hair and watched him breathe while he's sleeping peacefully. God, he looked so cute. I placed a kiss on his cheek and realized I was getting tired myself, so I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

"Time to wake up baby," I woke up feeling kisses on my face.

"Mhm?" I mumbled as I slowly opened my eyes.

"I ordered dinner for us," Dalton smiled, "let's eat."

"Okay baby," I smiled. He gave me the food he ordered and we had dinner together. I quickly finished the food since I was so hungry. Besides, it's my first time having good food in a while.

"Someone's hungry, huh?" Dalton chuckled.

"I haven't had good food in a while, the hospital food was so boring," I fought back, "Besides, I'm eating for two."

"Okay, Mommy," he giggled.

"I want some chocolate ice cream," I pouted. I had been craving chocolate and ice cream the past few months, so chocolate ice cream would be perfect.

"Let me check the fridge," Dalton said. He went to the kitchen and soon came back with a tub of chocolate ice cream and a spoon.

"Here you go, Mommy," he smiled, handing me the ice cream and the spoon.

"Thanks babe," I smiled. I opened the tub of ice cream and started
eating it.

"Want some?" I asked Dalton. He smiled and nodded. I scooped some ice cream on the spoon and put it near his mouth. When he opened his mouth, I placed the ice cream in my mouth and stuck my tongue out at him to tease him.

"You think," I giggled.

"You're mean," he pouted. I bursted out laughing.

"Okay, goofball," I giggled, "but give me a kiss first."

I puckered my lips and he leaned in to softly kiss me. I gave him the ice cream and he gave me a goofy smile. I kissed his lips and he giggled. We ended up sharing the ice cream and finished it together.

"Shower?" Dalton asked. I nodded. He picked me up and carried me upstairs to the bathroom. I removed my clothes and so did Dalton. He turned on the water as we stepped in and felt the warm water on our bodies.

"My sexy baby," Dalton said as he wrapped his arm around my waist.

"No," I slightly moved away.

"What's wrong baby?"

"I have a scar now," I frowned, referring to the scar on my stomach from the surgery I had a little over a week ago.

"It doesn't matter to me baby," he comforted me, "you're still beautiful inside and out. You're not defined by your scar."

"Do you really mean that?"

"Of course baby," he smiled genuinely, "you mean the world to me."

My heart melted. I couldn't help but smile at his words.

"That's the smile I want to see," he smiled. We finished showering and I put on one of Dalton's shirts. He's a lot bigger than me, so his shirt was almost a dress to me.

"Cutie, you're wearing my shirt," he smiled and I let out a small giggle. I lied down on the bed next to Dalton and closed my eyes as I started to feel sleepy.

"Goodnight baby," he kissed my face then my stomach, "you too, little one."
