a month later...

"Baby, I missed my period," I said to Dalton, "it's supposed to be here yesterday."

"Let's get tested, shouldn't we?" he asked and I nodded nervously. We went to the bathroom and I opened the cabinet to get the pregnancy tests.

"Crap, we ran out of them," I sighed.

"I'll get some at the pharmacy, do you need me to get anything else?"

"That's all, please be quick."

"I will, don't worry," he smiled and went out. I went back to our room and layed down on the bed. Imogen's at school, and Leonel was still asleep, so it's just me and the dogs. I had been feeling lightheaded multiple times the past few days and my period was missed, I hope it's a sign that I'm pregnant. Tucker walked into the room and I gently pet his head. He's always really clingy around me and Imogen.

"Baby, I'm back," I heard Dalton's voice outside. He walked into the room and brought the tests. He bought a few boxes just in case we had to retest because they're negative.

"Alright, let's get tested," I breathed out. He gave the tests to me and I took them to the bathroom. I took two of the tests and placed the rest in the cabinet. When I was done, I washed my hands and went back to Dalton with the tests.

"I'm scared," I pouted and he wrapped his arms around me. He ran his fingers through my hair and kissed my head, trying to calm me down.

"I really hope they're positive," I said quietly. "Me too baby."

He kissed my lips and held me tight while we waited for the longest three minutes of our lives.

"I guess it's time to check," he said quietly and I nodded. I picked up the tests without looking at them and looked at him. He gave me a nod and I looked at the tests. The first one had only one line. I looked at the second one and it had a second faint line. I raised my eyebrow in confusion and looked at Dalton who seemed just as confused.

"I think we should call the doctor and ask her what this means," he suggested. I agreed. I picked up my phone and clicked on Dr. Johnson's number. She picked up and I put it on speaker.

"Hi Ariana, what's bothering you?"

"My period was supposed to be here yesterday, so I decided to take two pregnancy tests. One came out negative while the other one had a second faint line. What does this mean?'

"It's either a false positive or it's too early to detect. I would recommend retesting tomorrow," she replied.

"Alright, thank you so much."

"You're welcome," she said before hanging up. I put my phone away and snuggled into Dalton's arms.

"I really hope there's a mini me or a mini you in there," he smiled, softly rubbing my stomach. I lightly smiled.

"Me too," I smiled.

the next morning...

It's a Saturday, meaning Imogen didn't have to go to school. Dalton, who was still asleep, had me in his arms. He was hyperventilating and mumbled something about not wanting me to leave him. He must've been having a nightmare.

"Baby?" I shook him awake. His eyes shot open and he looked at me with worry in his eyes.

"Baby, did you have a nightmare?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Don't leave me baby," he mumbled.

"I'm not leaving you baby, I'm here," I reassured, "What's bothering you? Wanna talk about it?"

"I-I had a flashback about that one time you got into a coma," he said quietly. My poor baby, he was traumatized. It had been two years, but he still had his trauma. One single thought of it could send him straight to a panic attack.

"I'm so sorry baby," I held him in my arms and placed a kiss on his head, "I'm here with you, I promise I'm not leaving you."

"Please don't do it again," he said quietly.

"I won't baby, I'm happy now," I lightly smiled. He hugged me tighter and I felt his breaths on my face. He was still hyperventilating.

"Baby, I really think you should start going to therapy too," I said to him and he shook his head. I had been trying to convince him to go to therapy the past two years, but he refused.

"I just wanna hold you in my arms," he mumbled. "I know baby, I'll still be in your arms even if you go to therapy. It will help you, just like how it helped me and Imogen, I promise."

"I guess I'll give it a try," he mumbled

"That's my baby," I smiled and kissed his cheek. I snuggled closer to him and he ran his fingers through my hair.

"Baby, I think you should try taking the pregnancy tests again," he said. "Okay baby."

I stood up and went to the bathroom. I took two tests from the cabinet and removed the caps. I peed on them and put the caps back on before washing my hands and going back to Dalton.

"I'm scared," I pouted, placing the tests on the table. He kissed my head and wrapped his arms around me.

"I have a great feeling about this," he smiled, trying to cheer me up.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Imogen beamed, walking into our room.

"Hi Piccolina," I smiled. She sat down on Dalton's lap and he ran his fingers through her curls.

"I might have a baby in my tummy," I told her and she lit up. "Really?"

"Yeah," I smiled, "Actually, it's time to check. Can you see the results for me and Daddy? Two lines on both tests mean there's a baby in my tummy."

"Okay Mommy," she smiled. She took the tests from the table and looked at them.

"Mommy, there's a baby in your tummy!" she beamed, showing me and Dalton the tests. I looked at them and gasped.

"Oh my gosh," I started to cry and he attached his lips onto mine.

"We're having another baby!" he squealed and kissed my lips once again. He lifted my top and placed kisses on my stomach. Imogen also came closer and placed kisses on my stomach.

"Baby, can we not find out the gender until he or she is born since we already have a boy and a girl?"

"Sure."

"Can we also have a home birth instead?"

"Of course baby," he smiled, "but let's ask the doctor and make sure it's safe. Let's book an appointment now."

I nodded. I took my phone and booked an appointment with the doctor. She said that she's gonna be free at four.

"Can't wait to see our baby," he smiled.

"Me too."
