a few weeks later...

"Baby?" I called.

"Yeah?"

"I really want another baby."

"You do?"

"Yeah."

"We can start trying, but I think it's best to see the doctor first and make sure everything is safe," Dalton said and softly rubbed my stomach.

"You're right," I lightly smiled, "let's book an appointment."

He nodded and called the doctor to book an appointment. Once she picked up, he explained what we're up to and booked an appointment.

"She said that she's free at five," Dalton said after hanging up. I nodded. It's three o'clock now, meaning we still had two hours.

"I hope it's safe for me to get pregnant again," I said quietly, "I don't know if it's even possible to get pregnant again."

"Oh baby," he ran his fingers through my hair, "the doctor is going to make sure everything is safe. Maybe she can also help us with some treatments."

"I-I don't know, I went to many different doctors several years ago and they all told me that there's nothing they can do," I looked down.

"Baby, it's been years, maybe they had found a way to help you," he smiled.

"I guess you're right."

"Mommy?" I heard Imogen's voice upstairs. She must've woken up from her nap.

"I'm coming," I replied. I got up and went upstairs to her room.

"Hi Piccolina," I smiled, picking her up, "did you have a good sleep?"

"Yes Mommy," she answered. I carried her to my room to see if Leonel was awake. He's still asleep, so I brought her downstairs and sat down on the couch next to Dalton.

"Hi Daddy," she beamed.

"Hi little blossom," he smiled, "can Mommy and I talk to you about something?"

"Yes Daddy."

"Do you want to have another baby brother or sister?" he asked her.

"Yeah!" she beamed, "I want a sister."

"So, your Mommy and I want to try to have another baby, but since Mommy's tummy is sick, we'll go to the doctor to get her checked."

"Am I gonna get shots?" she asked. She hated shots so much. The thought of getting them scared the shit out of her.

"Nope."

"Is Mommy gonna get shots?"

"Maybe, we don't know yet," I answered.

"I hate shots. They're really bad. They hurt," she frowned.

"I know Piccolina, but shots help keep you healthy and prevent you from being sick."

"I still hate them," she complained and we both laughed.

"I'll see you later Leonel, be good to Auntie Tori," I smiled and kissed Leonel's head.

"See you later T, please call me or Dalton if you need anything."

"Sure will," she smiled. We then went out and got in the car. Dalton then started driving to the doctor's office.

"Mommy, can Auntie Tori stay for dinner?" Imogen asked. "Of course Piccolina."

"I wanna play games with her," she beamed, "she's fun."

Soon, we arrived at the doctor's office. We got out of the car and entered the building. Dr. Johnson welcomed us and we sat down on the chairs provided.

"We're here to get your fertility status checked, am I right?" Dr. Johnson asked and I nodded.

"Alright, I'll start by checking your blood pressure," she said. She wrapped the strap around my arm and I felt it starting to tighten. After a few seconds, I felt it loosen up again.

"Your blood pressure is normal. Please step on the scale, I will need to measure your weight," she said. I stepped on the weighing scale and she measured my weight.

"Your weight is also good enough if you want to get pregnant," she said, "Now I'll have to get some blood work done to see if you have enough of all the required nutrition and hormones to have a safe and healthy pregnancy."

She then prepared the needle and cleaned my skin with alcohol.

"Are you ready?" she asked and I nodded.

"Take a deep breath," she said. Dalton held my hand, knowing that getting my blood extracted had always scared me. I took a deep breath and felt the needle poking into my skin. I looked away and looked at Dalton instead to distract myself.

"Mommy, does it hurt?" Imogen asked. "A little."

"Oh."

"Done," Dr. Johnson said, removing the needle from my skin. She put a band-aid on my skin and placed the tube of blood in a machine. She inspected it and printed out the results.

"It seems like you have enough of all the nutrition required, but your hormone levels are low, which will suppress your fertility," she explained, "I will have to prescribe you some supplements to help prepare your body for pregnancy. I will also prescribe you some shots to boost your hormones and increase your chances to get pregnant. It will slightly lower your risk of miscarrying, but it's not 100% effective, because there's still no cure for your condition."

She wrote the prescription then showed me how to give myself the shots I was prescribed. She then ran some tests on Dalton to make sure there's no problem with his fertility and everything came back normal for him.

"Please come back in a month to see how your body respond to the medications. If your body responds well enough to the medications, you can start trying," she said. We thanked her and drove to the pharmacy to get my prescriptions.

"I'll get them for you," Dalton said.

"Okay baby," I smiled. I gave him the prescription and he went inside the pharmacy while I stayed in the car with Imogen.

"Mommy, are you gonna get shots?" Imogen asked.

"Yeah, I'll have to get them myself everyday for a month," I answered and her eyes went wide.

"That's scary."

"Yeah, it is scary, but it's gonna help me and Daddy have another baby so that you can have another baby brother or sister," I smiled. "Oh."

"Will it hurt?"

"Yeah, but I'll probably get used to it," I reassured.

"I hope your tummy will not be sick anymore so that you can have a baby," she smiled.

"Awe, thank you Piccolina," I kissed her head, "The doctor said that my tummy can't be cured, but some medicine might help me have a baby."

"Oh."

A few minutes later, Dalton came back inside the car with all my prescriptions and drove back home. We unlocked the door and went inside the house to see Tori singing a lullaby for Leonel who was half asleep in his bassinet.

"I never knew you're a good singer," I smiled and she blushed.

"She really wanted to be a singer when she's 13 but changed her mind a few years later," Dalton whispered into my ear, "you're her biggest inspiration."

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah."

"Awe, Tori," I embraced her into a hug.

"I never knew my biggest inspiration is gonna carry and give birth to my niece and nephew, I'm one lucky aunt," she smiled.

"I really wanted to pursue a career in music when I graduated high school, but I just didn't have the confidence, so I decided to do modelling instead," she continued.

"I'm sure you're gonna make it big," I smiled. "Thank you so much."
