Chapter 31
Dinner
"Wow.." I gasped as soon as we stopped in front of a luxury and stunning car. Kabababa lang namin galing sa unit niya. As soon as the private elevator opened, the black Spyder made my eyes almost pop out, my mouth hung open. We were in the parking space exclusive just for him where two fancy cars were parked.
"Sayo ba 'to?" I asked referring to the shiny gold and black car.
"Mm-hmm," he nodded.
"Wow! An Audi Spyder.." I gasped.
Mabilis siyang bumaling sa akin. Ngumiti ako sa kanya saka hinawakan ang hood ng sasakyan. It's just so stunning in person. Yung parang ayokong gamitin ang ganitong sasakyan sa kadahilanang baka madumihan kahit ang gulong. The type of car that will turn heads wherever it goes.
"I'm impressed," hinarap niya ako. Both hands were in his pockets. "How'd you know?"
"My brother and I are fond of cars. Fancy cars. And spiders are our favorite. Well, who wouldn't love spiders right?" I answered.
I remember when we were still in grade school, Ion and I used to take notes of every luxurious car released. And we promised to buy one from the list when we get a job. But turns out it's not that easy now that I'm earning money.
"Ion's a racer right?" he asked.
"Not really. He raced but he never joined real car races. That's his biggest dream actually. Si mama ang may ayaw," sagot ko at muling tumingin sa sasakyan.
My brother has been dreaming to become a racer. Pero ayaw pumayag ni mama. According to her, it was a very dangerous dream which I agreed. Pero nakakapanglumo din dahil iyon ang pangarap ng kapatid ko at lahat kami ay hindi pumapayag. Maliban siguro ni papa na sumusuporta sa kanya.
"Wanna try it?" He asked.
Mabilis akong lumingon sa kanya, mouth were half open.
"What??"
"We can use it instead. At ikaw ang driver."
He's serious?
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. Papasundo rin naman ako mamaya ni Mal at paniguradong ito ang sasakyang gagamitin iya. Papahatid nalang natin yung dala mong sasakyan sa driver ko. Let's get going. Excited akong makita ang hot girlfriend kong magda-drive," niyakap niya ako sa baywang saka mabilis na hinalikan sa pisngi. Pagkatapos ay umikot siya sa passenger's seat at binuksan ang pinto.
"No," mabilis kong pigil dito.
"Bakit?" lumingon siya sa kin.
"Um.., b-baka may makakita sa atin."
Biglang nanliit ang kanyang mga mata.
"Whoa.. wait, ayaw mong may makakita sa atin?" he tilted his head to the side. "Kinakahiya mo ako?" Sinarado niya ang pinto at muling lumapit sa akin.
Alam kong hindi mga chismosa ang nakatira sa village namin, pero masyadong agaw-pansin ang sasakyan na ito. Siguradong hindi magugustuhan ng tatay ko ang ideya. First time pa niyang e-meet ang pamilya ko pero pinakitaan na niya agad ito ng magarang sasakyan.
