Mutual
I sighed as I looked outside the window. It's already ten in the morning yet the surroundings still felt like it's still six in the morning. The sun didn't burn yet. I pressed the button to roll down the window of the car. I took a deep breath as soon as it opened. The cold earthy scent filled my nostrils.
Petrichor. I thought.
The whole place looked so new, neat and clean. Seems like the heavy rain yesterday washes all the dirt of the city away leaving a refreshing atmosphere.
"You okay?"
Napalingon ako kay Shane. Kasalukuyan kaming bumabiyahe patungo sa lugar na sinasabi niyang puntahan namin. Galing pa kaming airport dahil hinatid namin sina mama at papa.
"Yes. I'm fine. Curious lang ako kung saan mo ako dadalhin," sagot ko.
Ang totoo ay tumatakbo sa isip ko ang mga sinabi ni Lia kanina. Not that it really matters to me but I just couldn't help to think about it. And also, I will surely miss my parents.
Sinulyapan ako ni Shane at kinindatan. "In heaven."
Sinimangutan ko siya. Wala ata siyang ibang alam na gawin kundi puro kahalayan.
He chuckled and then pinched the tip of my nose. "Alam ko kung anung iniisip mo. We'll go somewhere that'll surely gonna blow your mind."
"Lahat ba ng mga babae mo ay nakapunta na doon?"
"Can we not talk about other people?" he said irritably. "Ikaw pa ang pinakaunang babaeng dadalhin ko doon."
I bit my lip and quietly giggled, not because of what he said just now, but because he respected our relationship by not wanting to mention his past romantic relationships.
We were already driving next to the bay. Napalingon ako kay Shane na tahimik na nagdada-drive. Tingin ko may ideya na ako kung saan kami pupunta. Hindi naman masama kung magsi-swimming kami ngayon. Maganda ang panahon. Ang problema lang ay wala akong swimming wears na dala.
Shane drove inside an exclusive yacht club. He gave his pass to the security and we were let in.
"What are we doing here?" Gulat kong tanong.
"Sasakay tayo ng eroplano dito. Subukan nating lumipad mula dito," he sarcastically said.
I laughed. He looks even more handsome when mad and it makes me want to kiss him.
"Does the yacht there have some special ability to fly?" I mockingly asked. He glared at me. "Alright. I'm just kidding."
"Come on," he guided me to the dock where expensive yacht boats lined up.
Huminto kami sa pinakadulo kung nasaan ang di kalakihang yate. Pero tingin ko ito ang pinakamaganda sa lahat.
"This is my prize for winning a bet with Duncan," he said.
Gulat akong lumingon sa kanya. Just a prize for a bet? No way. Muli akong tumitig sa yacht. It had a sleek and modern design in cream with a touch of wooden brown on the outline edge. Its color shines under the rays of the bright sun.
"Shane Axl, my man! Zouie."
Pareho kaming napalingon sa nagsalita. It's Duncan with a glass of wine in his hand. May akbay-akbay din siyang singkit na babae na may yosi pang nakaipit sa daliri.
