*Y/N's POV*

It had been a couple of days since Fred and I's big fight and I had avoided him everywhere I went. In class, I sat on the far end of the room, and during mealtimes, I'd sit over with Neville and Ginny. Not even looking over in Fred's direction as he sat there with Angelina, she had been hooked to him ever since their kiss and it didn't seem like Fred minded it at all. George, however, seemed to be finding her more and more annoying. Somedays, he chose to sit with us as opposed to his brother.

Cedric, on the other hand, always made sure to check up on me. He surprised me with flowers and sweets, we never got the chance to go get a butterbeer due to him training a lot of the time. But, we did walk to class together and he'd always walk me back to the Common Room at the end of the day, kissing me on the cheek before rushing back to his dorms to avoid getting caught by Filch. I was content when I was with him, but the moment he left, it was back to missing someone I needed to avoid constantly.

Now, it was sort of hard to avoid him as McGonagall had called all of Gryffindor house into a meeting to discuss something of importance. I sat between Ginny and Hermione as McGonagall had boys and girls seated separately on opposite ends of the room.

"The Yule Ball has been a tradition of the Triwizard Tournament," McGonagall spoke as Filch fiddled with an old record player, "Since its inception. On Christmas Eve night, we and our guests gather in the Great Hall for a night of well-mannered frivolity. As representatives of the host school, I expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward and I mean this literally because the Yule Ball is first and foremost a dance." McGonagall explained.

All the girls turned and muttered to one another in excitement, I, however, sank further into my chair. The boys muttered as well but in disgust and annoyance between one another.

"Silence!" McGonagall interrupted, "The House of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the Wizard World for nearly 10 centuries. I will not have you in the course of a single evening besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling bumbling band of baboons!"

I saw George lean over and mutter something over to Fred, the two of them whispering and snickering betwixt themselves.

"Now to dance is to let the body breathe," McGonagall turned to the girls' side of the room, "Inside every girl, a secret swan slumbers longing to burst forth and take flight!"

Ron muttered something over to Seamus, clearly making fun of something or someone, McGonagall whipped around to the boys' side of the room, "Inside every boy, a lordly lion prepared to prance." she glared at Ron for a moment, "Mr. Weasley?"

"Yes?" Ron mumbled, attempting to sink into his chair.

"Will you join me please?" McGonagall pulled him up by his sweater before he had time to answer as Harry giggled pushing him to go with her. Hermione and I snickered as Ron's face turned nearly as red as his hair, "Now, place your right hand on my waist."

"Where?!" Ron's face reddened further, his eyes widening.

"My waist," Ron hesitantly did so. A whistle left Fred's mouth, Ron sneering at him before McGonagall pulled his focus back, "And extend your arm." The twins giggled and smirked over at Ron, "Mr. Filch, if you please."

Filch placed the needle on the record player before McGonagall and Ron started to sway around the middle of the room. I looked over to see the twins swaying as well, I couldn't help but giggle at them. Fred glanced over, I instantly stopped and before anything else could get awkward, Harry called them over.
