Chapter 15

I was almost at Caelans house just as the sun set. I was too late. There was screaming. So much screaming. And it was getting closer to me.

Vamps were running at me, carrying kids.
They were crying and trying to struggle free. I could hear howling in the distance, the wolves were fighting so were distracted.

I was on my own.

I look Lucy and Lorraine out their bed and went for it.
I took out the first vamp. He was not expecting me. He dropped the kid he was carrying, the boy must've been around 8. The kid ran behind me.

I gave him gave him my cloaking spray.
"Spray this on you and any other kid that you see. There's a huge oak tree just behind those bushes. You need to get as many as you can there. It will protect you". 

The boy looked like he was about to cry. "You're a warrior now kiddo, I need you to accept that".

I smiled at him and gave him a stake out my sleeve.
"If you need it, aim for the middle of the chest". I ran to oncoming vamps. Taking them down one by one.

I asked the ground for holes and it obliged, tripping many to make the kill easier. The trees were helping lowering their branches.
"Protect the children" I begged to the trees.

'Protect nature, and nature will protect you'.

There was around 20 kids, I think I got them all.

I found the first kid protecting the others like the little hero he was.
"I'm going to help the others, please stay here and I will come back for you".
A little girl of around 5 started crying. I knelt down in front of her.
"You're safe here the trees will protect you, and listen to my little príncipe guerrero, he will keep you safe".  I ruffled the first kids hair.
He stepped forward with a strong stance with his first on his heart.
"I will protect them".
I smiled at him and I ran toward Caelans house.

My Buddy was on the floor, he was covered in blood, a vamp sunk his teeth in him. No!
I ran up grabbed it by it's head, it let go of my buddy and I ripped it's head clean off.
Buddy nodded at me but struggled to get up.

Around 8 vamps started circling us. I took out Lucy, cracked my neck and went for it.

Each time I went for one vamp, another tried to feed off my Buddy. I had to stop that one. Then another came for me. They had a strategy.

It was working.

What the fuck was happening. They just kept coming, there was too many.

Then a huge black wolf jumped into the middle of us landing on a vamp wearing a plaid shirt that was about to bite me, tearing its head off as he landed.
He looked like my old teacher I thought, the vamp not the wolf.

The black wolf and I fought side by side protecting each other and my Buddy. After what felt like forever. We took down the last vamp.

I knelt to the ground and checked on my Buddy. He was so weak, I could feel it.

"Can you shift back Bobby" I asked quietly.
The black wolf shifted and Caelan knelt next to me.
"He's too weak to shift".
No no no. This wasn't going to happen not again. I won't let it. I took my bag off my back. My bag was My armour.
I took my boots and socks off.

I placed my hands in the soil under Bobby's body and closed my eyes.

"I'm calling to the Earth to heal his body and help his heart beat strong. I'm calling to the rain to purify him. I'm calling to the wind to give him the air he needs to breathe. I'm calling to the moon to shine a light to guide him back to me". I kept repeating this.

A nearby bushes branches came out and scooped Bobby's wolf body and pulled him under the bush.
Caelan went to grab him. I held his arm back and continued with my chant.

Then the rain fell. It was so refreshing. I continued the chant.

The rain stopped and a wind swept over us blowing my hair out of my face.
I smiled and continued my chant.

A moonlit ray descended on the bush. I continued my chant.

Then we heard a rustle in the bush and some moaning.

A very naked Bobby stepped out of the bush and fell to the ground in front of me breathing heavily. I smiled at him.

I brushed his hair from off his face with my hand. I could see the puncture marks on his skin where the vamps fed from him. The bastards.

I took out the green mouldy lettuce potion and started to dab it on his wounds. Bobby opened his eyes and looked at Me.
"hey Buddy" I said to him smiling.
"I'm still naked aren't I Morgan",
I chuckled "yes you are Bobby, you are very very naked" we giggled.
