Chapter 29

Caelans POV

The days were going by slowly. 

I had left Bobby in charge of day to day pack business and Jax was being a brilliant support to him just like he is for me.

We haven't had any more vamp attacks since the last one. I'm not sure if it's a good thing and I'm going to be so split if it does.
My people will need me to protect them, but Morgan is the love of my life and is right now defenceless.

Miriam came to see me every day with fresh clothes and food. I really appreciated this woman.

Mary came to see me a few times a day, I tried to ignore her, I thought it was quite inappropriate waiting and watching for my mate to die so she can work on getting me back.
I don't understand it, it wasn't an emotional relationship, it was just sex.

I fell asleep to the sounds of Morgan's machines beeping.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

I awoke with a light breeze blowing on my face. I stood up and checked on Morgan, I stroked her hair and kissed her on her forehead.

"She's so strong" I heard a light breezy voice behind me. I turned to see a beautiful young woman. Long blonde silvery hair. Her features were so delicate. She was wearing a pale blue dress.

"Moon Goddess"

I could've cried. The moon goddess isn't known to visit us. I knelt down in respect, my head bowed. I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"thank you for the compliment Caelan, please stand up, I'm not your goddess".

So who is this woman then?
"Please sit with me I don't have a lot of time".
I was completely mesmerised by her. I did as she asked. She took my hand in hers.

"You need to wake her up Caelan. The war is almost here and you won't prevail without Morgan by your side. She has been training for this almost her whole life, her being here at this time Isn't a coincidence"

"I don't know how to wake her, the doctors have tried everything" I said sadly

"Protect nature, and nature will protect you, an oath Morgan lives by. You are a protector of nature Caelan. The stories of your kind have been lost over the years. But Caelan you can do this".

"I don't understand how though, please help me" I sounded defeated

"Remember how Morgan asked nature to save your brother, use that"
"But I can't.."
"You can and you must. Trust nature, trust Morgan, you know what to do"

"Who are you?" I needed to know
"I'm Meredith" she smiled at me "when she wakes, tell her we're on our way, you won't be alone".

She stood up.

"Oh and Caelan, she holds a strong connection with oaks". And with that, she disappeared.

Then I woke up. I thought I was already awake?

What the hell just happened?

I looked at my watch, it was 5am. The sun will be starting to rise any minute.
If I was going to do this, I needed to do it now. I unhooked the machines as quickly as I could. I picked Morgan up as gently as I could. I walked through the hospital with her in my arms.

The machine set off an alarm so some nurses came running. "Alpha you must put her back to bed!" They shouted.
I know it's wrong to use my alpha command when they are only doing their job
"stand down and do not follow me" I said. They all stopped still and bowed their heads.

I ran to the forest.

When I got to the edge. Bobby ran up and tried to stop me.

"Cae, have you lost your mind? She needs to be in the hospital. I can't let you pass."
"Bobby, I know you think what you are doing is right, but you have to trust me. Morgan needs the woods, I know it sounds crazy and if she hadn't saved your life the same way I wouldn't even entertain the idea"
"But Cae..." he looked torn
"Either help me Bob or get out of my way" I said sternly.
"I'm coming with you" he said "where are we going?"

"Thanks Little Bro, we need to find an oak tree" I felt relieved to not be alone doing this.
"There's the old one near the lake? The one I lost my v card to Jessica Tate up" he gave me a ridiculous smile
"Lead the way" I rolled my eyes.

We got to the oak and I gently placed Morgan on the floor. I had no idea what I was doing.
"What now?" Bobby said kneeling next to me
I placed my hands on the ground and nodded to Bobby to do the same. Which he did.

"I Caelan Matthews, alpha of the Stonehaven pack, protector of nature and guardians of the vulnerable.  I ask the Earth to heal my loves body. I ask the lake to wash away the impurity that has been brought upon her. I ask the breeze to help her breathe strongly again and I ask the sun to bathe her body in its warmth"

Bobby looked me at repeated
"I Robert Matthews, brother to the alpha of the Stonehaven pack, protector of nature and guardians of the vulnerable.  I ask the Earth to heal my lunas body. I ask the lake to wash away the impurity that has been brought upon her. I ask the breeze to help her breathe strongly again and I ask the sun to bathe her body in its warmth"

We continued our chant together. I had no idea if this will work. But it felt right.

The branches from the oak encircled her body and lifted her off the ground. The branches moved her to the water and submerged her in the lake.

"Shit shit shit" bobby said "what if she drowns" he panicked
"we have to trust nature Bobby" Was all I could say.
We felt a breeze wash over us and the lake, the sun rose over the horizon and shone a Ray down to where Morgan was. The branches retreated back to the tree leaving her in the water.

I went to move to her when she sat up gasping and pushed her hair out of her face.

My heart stopped she looked so beautiful.

I ran over to help her out of the water.
