Chapter 34

We got out of the shower, dried off and got dressed.
We walked downstairs and Jax was sitting in the kitchen having a coffee with Miriam.

"Would you both like a cup?" She asked "you must be exhausted after your day" she smiled sweetly,

I laughed out loud. I love this woman.

I went through the training schedule with Jax and discussed what I was going to go through with the pack.

I told him when training the warriors I wouldn't hold back and I would expect them not to either. I was really looking forward to training with them.

The kids training session would consist of mainly hand to hand combat techniques and how to kill a vamp. I promised I wouldn't hurt them but I would push them.

We arranged a few 1 hour sessions for the other pack members. 1pm, 2pm 3pm and 4pm.

Jax thought the training was a great idea, he offered to take half of the attendees to help, it sounded like most of the pack would be turning up. I've seen Jax fight in wolf form, I'm really interested to see him in his human form.

Caelan said they needed some training in their wolf forms too, as I don't have much experience in that area, he said he would lead it.

I was super pumped about the next day. I needed a purpose.
With the threat of the war looming over these beautiful people I couldn't leave to find Billy just yet. But I would carry on my search. I promised myself that.

I woke up nice and early the next morning. My legs were a little stiff from the previous nights acrobatics. We were like rabbits in heat. As soon as my back hit the mattress I was being thrown all around and ended up with my feet by my head. I'm not complaining.

Caelan woke up just as I was coming out of the bathroom. He looked so sexy with half open eyes and his hair al over the place
"Why don't you go back to sleep, you don't need to be there for the warrior training" I stroked his hair.

"The trainings been cancelled, Jax has just told me" he said looking confused.

"What? Why? Is everyone ok?" I sounded a little panicked.

"No, they know their alpha is a horny fucker and taking you away from me when I have a serious case of morning glory is going to end up with them all having a really bad day" he grinned at me.

"Caelan! You dick I thought something was wrong! Sort your own morning glory out, I'll be on the training field" and I ran out the room giggling.

Training day.

I had been training with the warriors for a little over an hour. It was amazing. They are so strong and fast. As promised, nobody held back.
I have a cracked rib, a split lip and a beautiful shiner is forming over my left eye to prove it.

Jax and I made the decision that we wouldn't go up against each other and neither would Caelan. The 3 of us needed to be a strong unit, I have a feeling in hand to hand combat both Jax and Caelan could put me on my ass, which would probably make the warriors lose faith in me.

Even though I was just a human, they still needed to believe that their Luna is strong enough to protect them.

They usually train one on one which is great for them, but not great if they have a group of vamps surrounding them.
I grouped them in groups of 7, one was to be the target.
I painted their hands.

The task was to kill as many vamps as they could by staking them. I felt using stakes wasn't really an option so once a painted hand print hit the chest of the 'vamp' that was one out of the game.

They did well but most of the fighters would've been vamp food.

I started to show them how to use their bodies for momentum and how to clear a way to make sure they lived to see another day.

I didn't see Caelan watching from the door. I was too distracted. By the end of the session the warriors had improved but they still needed to be better. Same time tomorrow then!

I walked back to the house and Caelan looked over me.
"You're hurt?" He sounded worried and pissed.
"I'm ok, don't fuss" I said.

"If I can't kill who did this at least let me clean you up. Please" he asked.
"Oh fine" I said defeated, he looked so sad.

He picked me up and sat me on a stool at the breakfast bar. He went to get the first aid kit. I told him water on a cloth would've been ok but what do I know.

Miriam walked in and saw my face. "Oh darling look at you, you're beautiful face"
"I've had a lot worse Miriam, it's ok" I half smiled at her, my lip was sore.

"You know when the alpha has marked you, you'll be so much stronger and will heal so much quicker" she said while making some tea.

Say what now?

"Miriam, can I ask you something? Girl to girl?"
"Of course my darling you can can ask me anything" she sat down next to me.
"What is being marked exactly?" I asked
"I think we'll need biscuits with the tea for this conversation" she picked up the biscuit tin and placed it next to us. I started to dig in.

"Do you know of the mate bond?" She started
"I do"

"When 2 wolves have found their mate, they have found their other half, their soul mate if you will. The 2 are connected, it can make the wolves inside us calmer knowing we have a constant person in our lives, and stronger because we have something so precious to fight for. The marking is like putting a wedding ring on your finger. If you walk into a bar other guys or girls will see you have a husband or a wife and know you are taken. For us, it's a bite mark, it looks like this.." and she showed me the base of her neck.

"So you basically have a permanent hickey?" I said
"Haha yes sort of" she giggled

"But it's so much more than that, when Caelan marks you, his strength will be passed over to you, it will make you stronger, help your wounds heal quicker. If you get lost or taken then he'll be able to find you and vice versa."
"Would it not weaken him if he passes his strength to me?"
"No it wouldn't, but he would be stronger as you'll give him something to protect. As you'll be Luna, it'll also open up a mind link so you you'll be able to communicate with us while we're in wolf form". She explained.

"Miriam, I don't know if I should be marked by Caelan"
"Why wouldn't you want to be?" She asked softly
"It's not that I don't want to be, it's just, after the battle is over, I need to find out what happened to my brother, I can't do that here. I'm happy to lead the battle and I would give my life to protect everyone here, but I don't want Caelan marking me for me to just leave, I couldn't do that to him, I care about him so much" I have never felt this vulnerable before.

"Miriam can you give us a minute please" I heard a voice come from behind me.

"Of course alpha" she nodded her head, smiled at me and walked out the room.
