After for sitting there a little while longer, I decided that I should probably just go home. It didn't look like Ms. Maria was going to be free anytime soon so I just decided to go. When I left, I noticed that some rain clouds had started to form in the sky. They were grey and looked as if they were going to spill over any moment now. I wondered how Aisha and the others were doing with the monster that was attacking the movie theater. They probably had it well handled by now and had returned to doing whatever they were doing beforehand.

Even though it looked as if it were about to rain, the sun was still blaring through the clouds – meaning it was still extremely hot outside. I used to think that Michigan summers were hot, but it had to be at least over a hundred degrees here. I didn't know how anyone could deal with the heat here in California. I hadn't realized how close Rocky had lived to the Juice Bar until I walked back home. I literally just had to go through the park and then two blocks over. It was not that far at all.

I started to feel a few rain drops on my arms as I continued walking. It only took another few steps for it to start pouring down. I had always loved the rain, so I couldn't help but stop dead in my tracks and let the rain brush over me. It actually gave me a brief moment of relaxation. I stood in the middle of the sidewalk, just at the opposite end from the Juice Bar entrance. Most of the other people I saw while walking through the park had rushed inside different businesses when it started raining. I was the crazy one who wanted to stand in the rain.

I closed my eyes for a brief second, letting the rain pelt onto my skin and my clothes. I never cared that I got wet. Clothes were dryable. I inhaled the fresh scent of petrichor. I always had loved the smell of the earth and rain together. While standing there, I heard something strange, so I quickly opened my eyes – only to see that I was surrounded by Cogs. There had to be at least six of them but none of them were lunging in my direction just yet.

I quickly planted my feet on the ground and put my hands in fists. I spun around, making sure none of them were going to jump at me. It would really help if I had powers right about now, but I knew I could still defend them off without having powers too. I glanced at all the Cogs, and they still hadn't moved from surrounding me. I grabbed my communicator on my wrist and tried to contact the others.

"There are Cogs in the park – and they've got me surrounded." I said through my communicator.

"The other Rangers are still occupied with the monster, Danielle. I am sending Billy to come help you." Zordon said back.

"Yeah, that might be a good idea... My staff might be helpful too." I quickly said back just as one of them finally lunged at me. My staff appeared in my hands at the same time and I used it to block the Cogs punch. Then, all of the others started to come after me and I was sure in a pickle now.

I threw my elbow back, causing one of them to stumble back. It got right back up and ran towards me. I did a summer salt through an opening between two of them so that I could get out from right in the middle of them. Then I swung my staff towards some of their feet and knocked two over just as another one managed to kick me in the shin. That really hurt and I fell to my knees. I quickly blocked one of their punches but then another one came from behind me and knocked me forward. I'm pretty sure I smacked my face off the ground but I jumped right back up and continued fighting them.

"Hey, six against one is uneven odds!" I was a little relieved when I thought Billy showed up, but instead when I looked towards the voice, it was someone that I didn't even know. All I knew was what I could see – and that was this person had dark brown hair, was fairly tall, and had a black tank-top on.

Just a second after that, Billy showed up but didn't seem as surprised as I did when this stranger started fighting the Cogs like we were. I wasn't exactly sure how that was going to go over with Zordon because I had my staff out – I had a weapon out... I couldn't exactly just hide it either because it was taller than I was.
