When Adam and I got to the trail we were going to be hiking, Jason was waiting for us. I stayed close to Adam as we walked over to him. They instantly started talking while I kind of just half listened to them.
"I didn't take you as the type to hike." Jason commented as he looked at me.
"Why do you say that?" I asked.
"Well, you're friends with Kim and Aisha, right? I kind of just assumed that you were too girly girl like they were. That's all." Jason said.
"I don't know if I should be offended by that." I tilted my head slightly, "I actually love hiking. I use to do it all the time with my family back in Michigan."
"Well, then my apologies. Let's see if you can keep up then." Jason laughed.
"He's just teasing you." Adam nudged mas we started walking.
"Okay." I shrugged.
I started following them as they started laughing about something. They were walking a few steps in front of me, which I didn't mind. I was taking my time, whether they like it or not. Adam would look back at me every so often, making sure I was still there... which I was.
After we walked for about twenty minutes, I decided to play tag with the boys because they were walking in front of me still. I started running up behind them and I tapped Jason on the shoulder.
"Let's see if you can keep up – tag, you're it!" I yelled as I took off running in front of them.
"Oh, you're a quick one!" Jason laughed, "Tag you're hit!" he got Adam and then took off running in the same direction as me.
I was laughing the whole time, occasionally looking back to see how close Adam was to catching up to us. He was still a few feet away, but I got distracted looking back at him and ran right into Jason who had stopped right in front of me. If he wouldn't have caught me, I would have probably fell.
"Hey, why'd you stop? Adam's going to catch up!" I complained.
"Look over there." Jason pointed.
I followed his finger to see where he was pointing. It was an open field in the trail where it looked like trees had once previously been. Standing there was Prince Sprocket, a gathering of Cogs, and some monster.
"Why'd you guys stop running?" Adam asked, not tapping either of us when he caught up to us.
"Look." I pointed to the same spot Jason had just pointed in.
"What could they be up to?" Adam wondered.
"I don't know, but we should probably find out." Jason commented.
"Look, we can hide in those bushes over there!" I spotted a section of overgrown bushes that would hide us easily. At least me anyways... I was much shorter than both of the guys and the bushes weren't that tall.
"We need to be quiet." Adam whispered as we all hunched down behind the bushes. There was just enough space in between them for us to see through and try and figure out what the Machine Empire was up to this time.
From my understanding, they were planting some device that would suck the energy from the Angel Grove energy plant. We weren't sure what they needed it for, but it was probably going to be used for a weapon somehow. We didn't act just yet – we needed to know information about what they were doing before we interfered.
Then, they gave us the answer that we needed. They were going to use the energy to power a weapon that would send a beam into space, allowing other monsters from the galaxy enter our atmosphere. We clearly couldn't let that happen, so we had to jump into action and stop them before they could even get the change to steal the energy they were talking about.
