The week passed with only trivial events. An attack there, an attack here. We were able to wipe them out pretty easily. Of course who knows if the city was safe, but at least we saved the people right?
Looking at how angry Fury would get if a building got blown you would have thought he wanted us to just let the witnesses die so he wouldn't have to keep paying our fines.
I sighed. Seriously, what was I even doing right now? Prancing around and claiming to be a hero? It didn't feel as bad as I thought it would though. That train of thought was interrupted as the alarm rang. Tony probably set off another fire. I just pushed it to the back of my mind as I finished putting away my clothes.
Suddenly Tony screamed over the intercom, "You little shit, WHERE ARE YOU!?!?!? Are you just gonna let us die? Get your ass over here!!-" There was a crash and it cut out.
Oh geez, looked like they were in a pinch. I hurriedly put on my mask and ran out the room. With a quick scan of the area, I found them just a floor under. I figured the situation still didn't warrant me busting straight down the floor so I ran to the stairs. I figured if I took the elevator I would go greet some serious injuries.
I slid down the handrail and landed to see nobody dead. Which was technically bad because that meant these guys were not weak. But on the bright side, at least my teammates were okay right?
I take that back.
"DON'T MOVE! I'LL SHOOT!"
I almost laughed. Hopefully they caught Tony. He 100% had a blaster hidden up his sleeve, he would be totally fine by himself. Styx- It was Peter. The room dropped 10 degrees as everyone froze. We all knew that Tony would finally break if Peter died or seriously hurt. After getting so close to him, I didn't want him to get hurt either.
"EVERYONE DROP YOUR WEAPONS! NOW!" He yelled, still nervous, but starting to feel more confident because he realized he took the right hostage.
"Guys- it's fine just-" Peter's bad habit flared up but the attacker grabbed his mouth and shut him up for me.
"Be quiet Peter," I said as I assessed the situation. Making Tony repair his floor would have been better than this.
"We should put our weapons down," Cap sighed as he dropped his shield and raised his hands in surrender. Clint put his bow down too and Natasha even dropped the knives in her hands. I decided to follow and I placed my knives down. Loki bent to place his scepter down but I noticed he was slightly fading away.
"Stop." The attacker growled, turning to his left where Loki was hidden. He rammed the barrel of his gun farther into Peter's head.
"Loki, stop," Cap ordered.
"Tsk," Loki re-materialized. Looks like this attacker wasn't as much as a brainless goon as he seemed.
"What should we do now Silas?" Hm? Who was he talking to?
A tall person draped in black robes slipped out of the shadow behind him. My eyes narrowed. I didn't even sense him. Which was fair because I wasn't actively looking, but it still required some decent skills to avoid my detection.
"Silas" stepped up and everyone tensed. But that was unneeded as he only stepped forward to examine Peter. "Let's take him back with us. Who knows what the spider will drag in?" He asked, clearly meaning us.
Peter's eyes widened and he finally got worried for himself. He squirmed in the guy's grasp but to no avail; I only saw the guy's hands tighten around his neck.
"Any more and I'll start squeezing," he threatened in Peter's ear.
"Peter, stop moving," Tony said looking very worried.
