While the scientist was testing "my" blood, the van slowed to a stop and the back door slid open.
"I told everyone to leave me alone," the scientist said, without even turning away from his instruments.
"Sorry, I was just told to check on you," the agent said shakily. Looks like this guy was pretty far up the ladder then.
He replied back angrily, "What do you think he could do to me like that?" And tilted his head towards me. The agent looked at me and sneered.
He walked over and examined me, "This is the guy that made us evacuate our lab?"
"Our lab? To the best of my knowledge I own that."
"Oh yes, that's what I meant, sorry."
"Anyways, yes he is."
"Doesn't look like much."
This guy was getting on my nerves. The way he was so scared of that puny scientist just told me that he wasn't even that important but he dared to act like that to me. I finally looked up. When we made eye contact the guy flinched and was smart enough to shut up.
"Uh- looks like your doing fine so I go now. I was also just sent here to say that we arrived," he said as he scrambled out.
"He could have just said that first," I heard the scientist mutter under his breath. I watched as he started to gather his things and called out the door for guards. Two people came to the door and very respectfully asked what to do. The scientist directed them towards me and they yanked my handcuffs up and dragged me out the van. As we were getting off, I bumped into the scientist.
"Mind telling me a name? I've just been calling you 'the scientist'."
He gave me a glare. "You don't need to know it, watch where you're going."
Great. Everyone has a wonderful attitude here.
"Mr. Myers, your van has been checked for entry now," the agent from before shouted.
I laughed out loud. "Myers" glared at the agent so hard I thought he would drop dead on the spot.
We made our way into the building but I still had no idea where we were. I decided it was time to get a little serious before I would be locked in a large underground bunker so I checked my surroundings for bodies of water.
I wanted to scream in frustration but stopped myself at the last moment. I knew I would be back sometime but I didn't think it would be so soon. Maria had to know about this. Ohh I was so going to get her back. We were a lovely 130 miles from Cape Cod. Where's Cape Cod? Oh i don't know... In Massachusetts?!? What is next to Massachusetts? New York. Well Cape Cod is to the southeast so at least I know I'm actually in Massachusetts and not another state even closer to The Big Apple.
Now I know why I was basically untouched until I woke up. It was because we had to have been on a plane.
I was limply dragged into the compound and the guards looked a little suspicious at how cooperative I was being, but probably wrote it off as fear. In truth, I was just too dispirited.
I already knew that even if I escaped right now, there would be no easy way to get back to France. Getting a flight and avoiding JARVIS's searches would be nearly impossible, and unless I wanted to sail to France in my father's territory, there were no other ways. Asking SHIELD for transportation back would amount to nothing, they were probably overjoyed that I was finally here.
Amidst my pondering, (I need a lovely maiden to save me) I was royally shoved into a cell. "Thanks for that!" I yelled. The door shut and I was now alone. Just kidding.
"Where are we?" I asked the guard stationed outside my cell.
"Curious one aren't you?" she asked.
"Yes," I answered.
"Oh," she said, not expecting such a straightforward answer. "Anyways, it's not my place to tell you."
"I get it, you have to listen to the big guys."
"Nice try, I'm that stupid."
"It was worth a shot," I sighed.
After a couple of minutes, Myers stormed in. "I knew you were planning something, what did you do to your blood?"
"Open this door!" he yelled at the guard. She did and he left for the guard to escort me behind him.
"Wonder what happened." I commented to her.
"Shut up," she said. I could see the corners of her lips raising though.
We entered a lab, but it was smaller than the one we destroyed a month ago. Myers stormed to his vials and held up my blood he took.
"When did you switch it? When you bumped into me?"
"Ohh you got me there," I said, rolling my eyes.
"Strap him down." I was shoved into the chair.
"Easy there! Aren't you being a little rough on the goods?"
"Shut up," the guard said.
"You can go now," Myers dismissed.
"Can I go too?" I asked hopefully. Myers was prepping his needle and was ready to get more blood.
"Let's see what you do this time if you can't move," he challenged as he inserted the needle. He went to test it again, only to become frustrated. But I realized something was wrong as he started laughing.
"Powers, you have to be a mutant then," he said, turning back to me. I swapped the blood with his own this time.
"No it was magic"
"So how did you do it?"
"magic"
"I'll get it out of you somehow. What I don't understand is why you haven't used them before. So will you let me finally do a DNA test? Who are you?'
"Uh- no~body"
"Let's see if you can still say that after this," he said as he put a mask on my face. Oh this was the same gas as before. Too bad, it wouldn't work on me anymore. Well I fake fainted and redid the same process as he drew my blood again and again. I sensed him becoming more and more agitated as he got a different agent's blood each time.
"Wake up!" He slapped my face.
"Yes?"
"H-how are you up already?"
"Well if you already decided I was a mutant, then I would obviously built up a resistance by now right?"
"Then the other time?"
"Yep," I said.
"Get a guard here," he said over the intercom.
