7. New Info

I put the mask on right when an agent handed it to me.

"Not a word," I threatened him. The poor guy who was only told to deliver a package to the "new agent" scrambled away in fear.

Time to go find Fury.

"Are you proud of yourself now?" I asked as I barged into his room, ignoring his secretary who was trying to stop me.

"Yes in fact I am, Mr. Ja-," he said as he looked up from his papers.

"AHHH," I yelled, shocking the secretary even more.

"You don't need to act like a child Pe-"

"AHHHHHHH!" I yelled again.

"Fine. Agent Whatever."

"Thank you," I said nicely.

"And fuck you," I added, when I decided that was too polite.

Fury sighed like he was dealing with a kid and I took the liberty of pulling out and sitting down on a chair myself.

"Please leave," he dismissed his secretary.

"Now," he said turning towards me, "I have a lot for you too do."

"No."

"Your acting like a child again. I preferred it when you worked for Stark."

"Too bad, I didn't work for you then either, why should I work for you now?"

"The world will be overtaken by and evil organization, and this is your reasoning to not help prevent that?"

"Just give me a fun mission, no more kidnapping ones," I added on second thought.

"Go see Maria and she'll brief you."

"Glad to see how you make time for me," I said forlornly.

"Oh get out."

It wasn't too hard to find Maria, she was just waiting for me outside. "How are you here?" I asked.

"I was only put in France to watch over you." 

"Oh," I said. She looked a little bitter about that.

"Hey, come back I still have to brief you!" she called after me.

"I've never been here, let me explore!"

"Let me just give you a tour then, I don't trust you enough to leave you alone."

"touché"

"Anyways I can also give you a rundown on the things going on here while we're at it."

"Here," I tossed her the flash drive that was in my pocket. She was surprised but still caught it.

"Thanks," she said. She led us to the computer section and handed it to one of the guys. I knew it would take awhile so I found myself wandering off.

"Hey!" Maria called me back. "This is great we found a lot more about how they work"

"Yipee."

She went on, either ignoring or not noticing my disinterest.

"So we already knew that Gluttony does research, and you already took down one of their leaders, Jean Myers. Envy are the fighters and they are the largest group, they are split into many branches too, small guards all the way to the mutants the Gluttony branch make who are sent into the public's eye. Now we know that the the Pride faction act as the leaders, and they delegate orders to everyone. The branch that works most closely with them is sloth, they are in charge of their plans and gathering information, maybe acting as advisors too. It also makes sense why Lust approached Tony now, they recruit people, including the people who they turn into mutants. It makes sense for Greed to be in charge of finances, looking at these reports, but there is still no mention of the seventh branch."

"Which one? Wrath?"

"Yes, the stuff on the flash drive never mentioned anything about them, even though every other faction was."

"Is this even important, either way they are bad right?"

"Of course it is! We need to know so we can figure out what to do."

"Well then what are they missing?"

"That branch could be anything, but to grow this much, they would need support from legitimate sources. Maybe it's people in high positions who are too risky to record."

"If so isn't that a big problem? Wasn't SHIELD already infiltrated before?"

Maria sighed. "Yes, it would be a big problem if that happened again."

"Bad guys posing as the good guys huh?" I commented.

"Not exactly, more like they are too powerful to fight so you have to leave them be until they cross the line." Hill corrected.

An agent nearby piped in, listening in to our conversation. "Like the Fatui?"

"The what?" Hill asked.

"Hmm... there are 7 Fatui Harbingers too."

"What's that? Looks cool." I said, looking over his shoulder.

"Oh, just a game, ignore me." He said, closing out the tab.

"Anyways get back to the topic," Hill said, interrupting us when she realized it wasn't important.

"Well now you know what the 7 factions are in charge of, you can plan with that in mind now." I said while pulling up a chair to play with the agent.

"Who even are you? Why are you wearing a mask?" he asked curiously.

"Does it matter? Lemme play too."

Maria left exasperated.
