A good 2 hours later I was done with all the important paperwork.

I needed a break and a good stretch, so I decided to visit the training area to see if the team was still there.

After only getting lost once, I started to hear some clashing. Probably Steve's shield and something else.

Hmm. I wonder how the vibranium would match up with Olympus steel.

I just stood at the door, but I felt a little out of place so I grabbed a clipboard hanging on the wall to seem busy.

"Hey kid," Tony wandered over to me.

"Hi, heard some stuff from the hall so I came here to check it out. Now that you're here, why don't we get that paperwork signed?"

Tony looked scared.

I just laughed.

"We can save it for another day, I think you're still tipsy too," I started to probe.

He just rubbed his face then patted me on the back.

"I'm all good, nothing you need to worry about."

I was skeptical but left it at that. Either the world was going to end, or it was some relationship mishap with Pepper.

Really, there's like no in-between with this guy.

"Tony your turn!" Captain America called from the mats.

Looked like he took the lead in training everyone. Loki was standing at the top and I'm guessing he was evaluating the team's strengths and weaknesses with Thor in the glass viewer.

Oh boy. Tony sauntered up to the mats, obviously not completely sober. This was gonna be good.

It was more of a beating than a fight. Steve was trying to teach Tony some moves, but Tony was just throwing punches like a madman. He did rely on his suit pretty heavily after all.

Steve had to be a damn good teacher to have that much patience for him.

Black Widow and Hawkeye were hashing it out on the other side, but Natasha clearly had the upper hand. I mean it made sense, she excelled in close combat, but Clint was good with range.

Still, I was surprised how well Clint was able to hold up. Or how much Natasha was pulling her punches. Or maybe both.

Uh oh. I watched as it was time to train with weapons. Steve grabbed his shield and handed Tony a dagger. They fought a bit, and it seemed like Banner came to join too because the door slid open behind me.

"Oh hello", he greeted me.

"Banner!" Tony noticed, glad to have his scientist partner.

"Join us!"

"Maybe I'll just watch from here."

"What about you Percy?" Tony asked, clumsily dodging one of Steve's punches.

"No thanks, I'll sit out against superhumans."

"Any experience?" Natasha asked, with Clint pinned under her.

I think I saw a flicker of a frown from Steve, probably his morals screaming at him for kids fighting or something.

"Nope, I don't even really do sports, I guess nothing besides camp," I said.

"Camp?" Steve asked.

"Yep, every summer. This year I'm a counselor. Got to teach all the new kids."

"So no sparring, but you must have had archery!" Clint was already out from under Natasha and dragged me to some targets.

He handed me a bow and I swapped it with my clipboard.

Oh, Gods. Everyone knows how this will go.

I took the bow and a random arrow while trying to remember what the Apollo kids tried to spend an entire summer on before royally giving up.

"Oh!", Clint said, pleasantly surprised. "He actually has perfect for--

whinggg, I let the arrow loose.

THUNK

Nope, I guess some things just don't change. Ah yes, it was the only other constant in my life besides Annabeth.

Clint was dumbfounded, staring at the arrow that had lodged itself somewhere behind me.

I just handed the bow back to Clint while pulling the clipboard out of his hand.

"Hahahaa..", I just nervously chuckled without an explanation really.

"The kids who were really good at archery at camp spent really long trying to teach me and I just never could."

"How?" Clint was still in disbelief.

I knew I couldn't shoot, but wow what a confidence boost.

I noticed that Loki looked amused. Yeah, haha my pain is really funny.

"I'll be off then," I announced to everyone, starting to feel uncomfortable with all the attention.

As I walked towards the exit, my demigod senses screamed.

My ADHD sprung into action as I whipped around to hit a dagger speeding towards me with the clipboard.

Dazed, I looked around, but it seemed to just have come from a horrible throw from Tony directed to the Cap.

They didn't notice but 2 other sets of eyes were on me.

"Lucky hit huh?" Natasha said, her eyebrows arching up.

Bruce was also looking my way, seeing as how Clint was still preoccupied with my horrible arrow shot, and Thor and Loki were watching from up top. It was unclear if they were looking at me or not. They definitely couldn't hear from up there.

"Yep, very lucky," letting some worry- that was not fake mind you, creep onto my face.

I carefully hung the clipboard back on the wall and wiped my hands on my legs to leave the room, which unknowingly left a tiny gold smear on the side of my leg.
