I turned around and my eyes widened. "Loki?" How had I forgotten that he would be here too?

"How do you know him?" Tony asked looking between us. I still hadn't thanked Loki for what he did that day; I know he tried his best to try and save Annabeth so I felt awfully guilty.

"I'll talk to you later," I muttered.

"Take the gun Stark." I said, turning towards Tony again.

"Don't you want to know why I wanted it back?"

"Because you wanted to make it difficult for SHIELD?"

I placed it down and he relented and took it. Then he pulled out something from his pocket and pushed it into the barrel. The gun slid and snapped back into place. He pointed it to Natasha as she dove out of the way. This time it was what I envisioned; a bright red laser beam shot out of the barrel.

"I'm convinced you don't like SHIELD, you're even shooting our agents," I joked.

"New achievement unlocked, he can joke!" Tony exclaimed.

"Give back the gun Stark." I grabbed it and left in the elevator. I could still hear then bickering behind me.

"Mr. Stark! Please don't take back my suit again! I know I almost fell off that bridge because I was showing off my webs to Ned but isn't that why the safety feature is there? It worked! I'm still alive! Please don't ground me!" The boy with mousy hair pleaded.

I could see that Tony was worried but he just turned around and asked, "Loki how do you know him? He's a new shield agent."

"I don't know either, let me go ask him," Loki answered as he stormed into the elevator before it closed.

*ding*

The doors slid shut and Loki almost exploded at me but I pointed at the camera before he could.

"I'm not that stupid, you aren't either, just use the mist, I already made a barrier though."

"Go ahead then," I sighed.

"I thought you were dead for two years? Why are you back now?" he asked.

"It's a long story."

"I have time."

"Welll where should I start? How much do you know?"

"I guess a lot, one of your a... demigod friends came and explained. Then I went back to Asgard and found a lot of old books to research."

"I didn't know you cared that much. Do the others know?"

"No I haven't told them."

"Good, it's too much trouble," I said.

"Why don't you even tell Tony? He's been beating himself up since your little disappearing act you know? He blames himself for not searching for you sooner, and finding Annabeth and the guy you were looking for dead certainly didn't help your case."

"Does he think I killed them then?"

"What? No, he knows you better than that, nobody thinks that."

"You know he thinks you've been kidnapped right?" Loki asked.

"It's kind of true, just not by who he'd expect."

"Well where have you been? He told me you were thrown in Tartarus."

"He?"

"His name was Nico." Loki remembered. I wonder why they sent him, he wasn't the friendliest with strangers.

"Yep Tartarus."

"Is that all you're going to tell me?" Loki asked. "It's been two and a half years and you just pop up like this?"

"Well I've been out for half a year now, I was in Germany and France."

"Stop dodging my questions, are you gong to come back or not? Tony never got a new assistant."

Looks like my disappearance hit Tony harder than I expected. "Who's the boy?" I asked.

"Peter something," Loki said.

"He's the new superhero Spiderman huh?" I said. Annabeth would have hated him.

"What's wrong?" Loki asked as he noticed something was wrong.

"Nothing," I dismissed. "It's time for me to go, knowing Fury, I'll be sent here again sooner or later."

I walked out the elevator without looking back and left Loki to return by himself. I don't know if I made the right choice or not to return to my past, how would this end? Although, I think I wouldn't mind getting back together with the team. I missed their liveliness in a way, it was refreshing from the monotonous SHIELD atmosphere, and definitely better than the hellhole that was called Tartarus.

I returned to SHIELD and after dropping off the gun to Maria, I headed to Fury's office.

"Have anything new for me?" I asked.

"Why are you here and not asking Hill?" He said bothered.

"Well I just thought I would return the favor, I'm guessing you were behind this little escapade too?" I said sitting down.

"Why won't you go back to them? Just work with them again, that's the only way to bring down the 7 sins organization."

"Maybe later, I think about it," I said.

"At least just tell Tony your alive, you used to work for the man."

"I said I'll think about it. And anyways, someone does know, Loki does."

"I don't know what you're thinking," Fury sighed.

"No you do know. Because he's the only one who wouldn't tell everyone else, even accidently," I said.

"Why not Natasha then?" he asked.

"She follows her orders, if you told her to drop hints she would do it." I answered.

"You completely saw me through huh? But there's still a problem with telling Loki," he said.

"Yep. If telling that I'm back somehow benefits him, he will, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I mean I can only hide the fact that I'm back in New York for a little while anyways." I reasoned.

"So why tell him at all then?" Fury asked.

"Because he helped me then," I said.

"He helped you?" Fury wondered.

"You didn't really think I ran away did you?" I asked incredulously.

"Then tell me what really happened," he said leaning forward. "I can get your charges cleared and you can come back to the public world."

"You would do that for me either way." I said.

"And why is that?"

"Because you know I can fight. And you have too much to lose if I walk away," I threatened.

"If you walk away, I'll turn on my side of the deal," he returned.

"Well I'm still here so no need to talk about the details," I said.

"You said the truth would come out sooner or later, why not sooner rather than later? What's the difference?" he asked, still trying to convince me.

"Just because." I said.

I wasn't sure if I was ready to return back to my old life. In Germany I only spent a month there and never fully settled down. France I did settle down, but I was countries away from my past. Now I was right here in the midst of it. Would it still be the same even if I had changed so much? Did I even want it to be the same?
