It took another week to get Nat to even mention the guy again.
"Tell me, tell me," I pestered her.
She looked so annoyed but finally conceded, "fine, but only because they are allowed to be seen in public now. He's just staying at his father's house downtown. I don't even know why you want to talk to him so bad".
"Thank you!!" I said as I rushed out to contact Annabeth.
I ran out of the room and tossed a drachma into the rainbow I just made.
"Annabeth he's out now should we go pick him up?" I asked.
"Yea we probably should as soon as possible because now he knows and now that he's out of protection, he might start getting attacked," she said.
Annabeth jumped into the car and we sped off to our destination.
"Where did you get this car?" she asked.
"I took it from Tony," I said.
Hopefully he wouldn't miss the car, at least we would blend into the rich neighborhood now.
"Thanks Tony," I chuckled under my breath.
Once we got to their house, or mansion more like, a maid opened the door after Annabeth knocked. We were led to a siting area and we sat to wait for Luke. Annabeth flinched at the name.
"Charming name," I thought grimly.
Only after a few minutes, the guy stepped out. He raised his eyebrows questioningly and started to turn away.
"Wait!" Annabeth said, "just hear us out".
"Only if it will get you to leave me alone," he answered annoyed, as he finally sat down.
"So anything weird happen to you recently?" I asked.
"Nope, only almost got shot, and now I have stalkers."
"Come on man, we're trying our best here," this was going to be hard to try and get him to believe us.
"Greek mythology is real," Annabeth chimed in, trying to remind him again.
"Wait your those kids," he said, narrowing his eyes in realization.
I looked to Annabeth in confusion. That's when things started to go south. His eyes rolled back into his head and he slumped into his chair.
Annabeth and I backed up, expecting the worst. And the worst really did come.
Luke- I'm guessing that's his name, stood back up and cracked his neck. His whole demeanor changed drastically and caused me to tighten my grip on the pen in my pocket.
"Nice to have a body now," 'he' said refreshingly.
"Who are you?" Annabeth questioned, drawing her knife.
"Hmm, good question," he mused.
"Guess!" he said, clapping his hands together.
Annabeth's eyes widened in realization. I hadn't caught on yet.
"Annabeth, wh-"
"T-t," she started shaking and stuttering. I wanted to scramble back and run then and there.
"no," I breathed. That's impossible. How? How? HOW?
"And you poor halflings were ready to pick up a son of Hades, huh?" he said, toying with us.
"Too bad he's just a son of Hermes". He walked over to the mirror near the front of the room and traced his new features.
"Poor guy didn't even fully realize who he was being taken over by. Hermes kids are easy to manipulate, right Annabeth? What a funny coincidence," he said jokingly.
Annabeth was starting to shake even worse but I could still see the gears turning in her head. That's right, he was just giving us information now. We could do this. I started to slowly uncap Riptide and get ready to fight if worst came to worst.
"Who are you kidding," I thought to myself. There was no way only Annabeth and I could send him back. Would that even work? I mean it would be his own domain. I believed in myself to hold him back for at least long enough for Annabeth to run though, I had too.
