Sokka's POV

Katara didn't say much last night, I took her back to my place to sleep, I think she was in shock because of what happened, she seemed back to her normal self in the morning though, she was making breakfast and on her phone at the same time. My phone went off, "it's Gran Gran", I sighed, "pick it up then", Katara didn't look up from her phone, "alright, hey Gran Gran, how's your head?", I chuckled, "not as bad as I thought it was going to be, where are you both Katara and I are going to miss our train if you don't get moving", she huffed. "Oh right, Katara's going to stay here for a while, is that alright?", I bit my lip thinking she'd overreact to the news.

"Fantastic about time she got out from under my feet, I'll drop round her thinks whenever I want to, have a great time in the city I'll be back to see you very soon!", she spoke loudly into the phone then hung up, "guess she doesn't want us to say goodbye properly", I shrugged, "she just doesn't want to say or hear goodbye, you know what she's like", Katara plated up the food giving me mine then sitting down, still on her phone. "What's got your attention?", I raised a brow cutting my food, "last night I put up a message that we're looking for a place to be roommates with others, there has been a lot of replies, many people are interested, I'm just seeing who doesn't seem completely insane or dangerous", she sighed.

"Pass it here", I got her phone and looked through, "okay so no to all the girls", I kept looking, "what? why??", Katara crossed her arms frowning at me, "I already have to deal with you I don't want anymore", I ate and looked through, failing at it and dropping her phone, reaching for it and knocking over my glass of water. "I've got it", Katara bended the water back into the glass and picked up her phone, "I'm not being the only girl, oh here's a notification, a Toph Beifong?", Katara furrowed her brows, "woah hang on, the Beifongs are filthy rich! Accept them!", I beamed.

"Toph is a girl, are you okay with that lord sexist?", She giggled, sure I really don't want to live with girls but she must be rolling in money, "I'm fine with it, accept and we'll meet her in the apartment right away", I nodded at her, she did what I said and not long after got a reply back saying now is a good time to come. We got the subway across to where her apartment is, got lost a couple of times but we made it, when walking up the stairs to the flat it didn't look too luxurious but I'm not giving up the hope that I hold for me to live like a king.

"This is it", Katara looked at a door then took a deep breath knocking, she quickly wiped off some dirt I had on my face, I pushed her off frowning, then the door opened. "Good morning, you must be Katara and Sokka, come in come in", a man welcomed us inside, he didn't seem like the Toph we thought we were going to see. "Nice to meet you, Toph?", I looked him up and down, "Toph? Me? No I'm not Toph, that's my daughter she's in her room, can I talk to you before you meet her so you know what you're going to go through?", he whispered, what we were going to go through? This didn't sound good.

"You see Toph can't see, she's blind, she's been blind all of her life, her mother says it's time for her own independence away from her parents, away from me, who usually does everything for her, she's so fragile and precious, will you help her around the flat? I need to know she'll be in good hands if I let you move in here", he smiled lightly. It was obvious he wanted to pick up his daughter and take her back home straight away, "sure, we can help her with anything", Katara smiled back at him, "brilliant that's what I like to hear, alright I'll introduce you and then let Toph make the final decision.

We sat down on the couches and watched him help his daughter into the room and sitting her down, she looked beautiful, she had her black hair tied back in a bun and wore a beautiful green dress, "Hi Toph, I'm Sokka and I'm here with my sister Katara, how're you today?", I smiled. "I'm doing well thank you Sokka", she replied, "you have a really nice place here, and super close to the subway, we could take it every now and again and go on walks, go to the parks and have fun", Katara added, "that sounds nice", Toph was blunt, we didn't really know what else to say.

"They're both your age and seem to be really outgoing, I understand if you don't like the sound of this we can always go back home Toph", her father tried to persuade her, "I wish to remain here, with them, they seem wonderful, can they move in tonight?", Toph sounded super hoity-toity. "Alright then, I'll give you both a hand with your things, then I'll leave you be", looks like he has admitted defeat, we got a roommate, all so quickly too, we got all our stuff in buy the end of the day and everything was great, Toph was super quiet though that was a little awkward.

"See you soon!", Toph's dad walked out after holding onto his daughter and crying his eyes out for the last hour and a half, we watched him leave, "thank god he's gone", Toph smirked and shook her head letting her hair down then restyled it putting it back up differently, Katara and I just watched confused with what was happening. "Did my dad say anything about me being weak and pathetic?", she felt around walking into what seemed to be her bedroom, we stayed where we were and talked slightly louder so she could hear us. "He said you were fragile", I said clearly, she walked back in with different clothes on, she was wearing a jumpsuit, she looked really nice in it actually, it's a shame she can't see how stunning she is

"Well then, let's get one thing straight, I can do everything by myself, no offence I just accepted to guys so my dad could leave me alone and I can be whoever I want so we don't need to talk or even acknowledge each other, bye", she went to the door to the flat going to open it. "Don't you want to be friends?", Katara asked, she's so soppy and girly, this made Toph stop though. "You want to be friends?", Toph asked back, "of course we do, we didn't come here to pretend that you don't exist, we want to have fun, this is my first time living away from my family home too", Katara is girly and all, but she knows the perfect thing to say and when to say it, it's a talent of hers.

"Really? Well then, what do we do? I haven't really met people who want to spend time with me apart from my parents, I don't really have any friends", Toph held her arm and turned around to face us, "you do now, come on I'll make us some dinner then we can do something together, Sokka can keep you entertained for now though", She smirked and walked to the kitchen looking at what's there. Shoot what should I say? What should I do? I can't ask if she wants to watch a movie or play a game she's sightless, "can I practice my earth bending on you?", she asked.

"You're an earth bender?? How does that work you're-", she interrupted, "yeah I know what I am you don't need to remind me, I use my earth bending so I can feel was around me, I know exactly where you're stood just by my earth bending. "Woah that's so cool, sure you can practice on me", I walked to a big empty space and stood there waiting for orders whilst Toph bended the soil out of one of the plant pots, come to attack me. "Toph I don't think I can do that", I bit my lip, I'm not going to hit a girl I'm above that, "you won't touch me I promise you, go for it", she smirked.

"Alright", I charged at her thinking this would be a piece of cake and I'll just hold her instead of hurt her, but boy did I underrate her, as I took one step forward ready to sprint a pot full of soil hit my chest sending me to the ground hard, I coughed scrambling to my feet, "I went easy on you there", I blushed lightly, "sure you did slowcoach", she bended the soil again, I made another move but ended back on the floor yet again. "How're you so quick!?", I frowned sitting up, "I can feel when you move even the slightest bit, I have a good reaction time", she blew some hair from her face and laughed, "again?", she grinned. "How about I try and sneak up on you every now and again, then we'll see how good your bending and reaction time is, especially when you don't expect it", I crossed my arms.

"Sounds fun", Toph nodded and held her arm out, I shook her hand, "it's a deal then, you better be careful and be on alert, I'm like a ninja", I smirked, "uh-huh a really loud and obnoxious ninja", she laughed again, there was a knock at the door, "huh who could that be?", I asked Toph, "I'm guessing it's probably the guy in the flat across the hall, he said he'd get mail for me everyday, guess I have mail, Katara can you get the door?", Toph yelled.

"Sure thing!", Katara stopped cooking wiping her hands on herself then fixing her hair before opening the door, I walked over and saw who was at the door with Toph's mail.

"Hey aren't you the guy that saved my sister earlier??".
