- You had just arrived in New York in search of Magnus Bane in order to become his apprentice when you stumbled into the cute bartender.
- It had been a long day of fruitless efforts of trying to convince Magnus to let you be his apprentice so you decided to drain your sorrows at the only downworld bar in town you had heard of, which just so happened to be the one Maia worked at.
- You had sat down on the barstool and rested your head in your hands.
- You were shocked when a glass was placed down in front of you and you looked up to see a girl smiling at you.
- "It's on the house, it looked like you needed it" she said and gestured to the gin and tonic in front of you.
- From then on you became a regular at the bar and spent many evenings laughing and talking with Maia during her shifts.
- The two of you became fast friends but you both knew there was more than just friendship under the surface, and soon enough the two of you became a pair.
- You were the first person Maia ever confided in when it came to about how she had been turned.

- Maia was your happy place and you couldn't imagine life without her.
A/N I have this weekend off, yay. So I'm cooking up some really delicious food for my mom to treat her because she's been having a rough time lately, and I of course bought some bubbly as well just to be extra fancy.
