Jace
Jace had left to go on a mission along with Alec and Izzy a couple of hours ago, and since he had left you hadn't been able to stop worrying. It was like this every time you couldn't accompany him, you would try and go about your day or night as usual but would always be distracted by your worry for something happening to him.
You were currently trying to read a book in your bedroom but failing to do so, when the door to your bedroom suddenly opened and you saw a figure stumble inside from the corner of your eye.
You looked over at the door and gasped when you saw Jace clutching the left side of his stomach with his hand.
You quickly discarded your book on the nightstand and jumped out of bed, hurrying over to your boyfriend, your eyes wide with worry.
"By the angel, what happened to you?" you asked as you reached out to cup his cheeks with your hands and made him look at you.
"We were ambushed by feral vampires" he gritted out through clenched teeth, a wheeze slipping past his lips as he closed his eyes in agony.
"Let me see" you said as your eyes shifted to look at where he was clutching his side.
You guided him over to your bed and helped him sit down, a soft groan passing his lips as he sat down.
"I know this is going to hurt, but can you raise your arms above your head so I can remove your shirt" you said softly, your heart swelling over with sympathy as you could see him struggle with the pain as he removed his t-shirt.
He threw it down onto the floor and you gasped when you saw the large purple bruise covering the larger part of his stomach.
"Oh, Jace" you mumbled as you sat down on your knees in front of him to inspect his wounds.
You reached out to touch the bruise with your fingertips and heard him wince in pain as you touched his skin. "You've broken several ribs, why hasn't your rune kicked in?" You asked as you looked up at him.
"It has, but the damage is probably greater than you think so it's taking a lot longer" he said as his blue eyes met yours. "You don't have to worry, I'll be fine" he added when he saw worry reflecting in your eyes.
"Jace, I love you, of course I'm going to worry" you blurted out as you reached out to take his hand in yours.
Jace eyes widened slightly at your words.
"You don't have to say it back, I know that word is hard for you to say" you said, knowing how much his childhood had made it difficult for him to express his feelings.
Jace suddenly reached out and wrapped his strong arms around you in a hug.
"Jace, you shouldn't move you're hurt" you exclaimed.
