"He hasn't called you or anything?" You asked as you shifted your phone from your left ear to your right.

Clary sighed on the other end and you could hear her moving around in her bed. You could hear a door close and assumed she had walked into the bathroom to not disturb Jace.

"I've tired calling him, and even went to the boat shed, but I haven't been able to get him to talk to me" Clary said, sounding as if she had given up all hope in getting through to her best friend.

You pinched at your nose and massaged the spot as you closed your eyes.

"Okay, I just thought that he would at least reach out to you if anyone" you said before you thanked Clary and hung up.

You sunk down on the edge of your bed and looked down at your lockscreen where a picture Clary had taken of you and Simon a couple of weeks prior when you had been out getting some coffee. Simon had his arm around your shoulders and looked down at you with a loving expression on his face as you gazed into the camera with a large smile.

Just a couple of weeks after that photo had been taken Simon's mom had found out that he was a vampire.

Simon had called you that same night and cried as he had retold what his mother had told him, and you had tried to console him for hours over the phone to no avail.

And after finally convincing him to go to sleep at dawn and that you would go see him at night he had calmed down.

But now a couple of days had passed and you hadn't been able to reach him at all, you had tried to call him several of times everyday but only ended up reaching his voicemail, and every time you visited the docks where Luke had allowed him to stay he wasn't there.

Not even Clary he managed to get through to him, and she knew him better than anyone.

You were now more worried than ever, this behaviour was so unlike your boyfriend.

You glanced up a bit to see the time on your phone and saw that it was just past midnight.

You just couldn't sit here and do nothing, you had to see if he was at the boat shed, even if it wasn't likely you had to look again.

You grabbed your coat and headed out into the chilly night in hopes of finding your boyfriend.

....

"Simon, are you in here?" You yelled as you banged on the door to the shed.

You listened intently, but heard no sound whatsoever coming from inside. You rested your forehead against the cold metallic surface and felt tears spring up in your eyes.

"Simon please, just let me in" you mumbled, knowing very well he would hear you.

You waited for a couple of minutes, the only sound reaching your ears being the sound of the wind howling through the deserted lot.

You sighed shakily before you turned your back to the boat shed and wrapped your coat tighter around your body.

You began to walk away but stopped suddenly when you heard the door open behind you.

You quickly turned on your heel and saw Simon standing in the doorway.

You quickly ran towards him and wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him into your embrace as soon as you reached him.

Simon stumbled back a bit, and the door slammed shut behind you and enveloped you in darkness.

You blinked in surprise at how dark it got and pulled back from Simon as you looked around the shed.

"Simon, why are you in the dark?" You asked as you turned back to face your boyfriend.

And first now you saw how awful he actually looked, his brown hair was tousled and messy, his cheeks were scarred with red lines from where tears had fallen, his t-shirt was dirty as well as his joggers, and he looked even paler than he usually did.

"Simon?" You mumbled in shock as you reached a hand out to touch him, only for him to flinch and back away from you.

You left your hand hanging mid air in disbelief as you stared at your boyfriend.

"You should leave and stop coming here" he said in a hoarse tone, as if he had not used his voice to speak to someone in a long time.

"I-, what are you talking about?" You asked completely bewildered.

"I'm poison and I shouldn't even walk on this earth, that's what my mother said. And she was right" Simon responded and averted his gaze from yours.

You gasped at him, unable to process the fact that he would even say such things about himself.

"You're not poison Simon, the world is such a better place with you in it" you said as you felt tears well up in your eyes.

"Is it though, you all still continue on with your lives well enough without me"

"No we don't, we've all been worried such these past few days, I haven't even been able to sleep Simon" you exclaimed as you took a couple of steps closer to him.

Simon remained silent, as if he couldn't really find the words to fight back on your claim.

You took another step so that you were standing right in front of him.

"Simon, if you were to leave this world I would break. I can't continue on living in this flawed world if your not by my side making it all better. You're what brings joy to my life, you make me believe that there are still some good things left to fight for" you explained as you reached your arms out to wrap him in a hug, gasping in relief when he collapsed in your arms.

You wrapped your arms tightly around him as he sobbed loudly into your shoulder, and you squeezed your eyes shut as a tear slipped past your eyes and down your cheek.

"What your mother said is not true, it may seem like the world is ending when someone you love so much says something as vile and cruel as that, but it's not true because there's so many people who actually love you" you said, making sure he understood how loved he actually was.

"I'm sorry" Simon mumbled out as his breathing had calmed down a little and his crying eased.

You chuckled through your tears as you pulled back to look at him.

"You have nothing to be sorry for, just promise me you won't isolate yourself like this again. From now on you're living with me, and anytime these feelings arise you tell me, okay?" You said as you met his brown gaze.

Simon nodded his head.

"I promise"
