Magnus watched you sleep peacefully by his side as the sun slowly began to rise in the horizon. He propped himself up on his elbow as he looked at you fondly.
You and Magnus had been an item for just shy of a year now, and the two of you had instantly known you had been soulmates the first time you met. It had been as if a spark had erupted between the two of you, as if you had always been meant to find each other.
You had called it a magical bond and Magnus found it hard not to agree, as you both just knew when something was up with the other. It was as if you could feel just by looking at each other whether you were sick, tired or afraid.
That's why Magnus wasn't shocked when he suddenly felt the presence of someone else in the room. He had suspected it for some time as your aura had begun to change even though you hadn't noticed it at all.
Magnus flicked his wrist to make small purple sparks appear at his fingertips and let his hand hover over your exposed stomach. He felt a smile tug at his lips when he could suddenly hear another heartbeat sounding from within you.
He had been right after all, you were pregnant.
Being so distracted by what he had just confirmed for himself that he didn't notice the shadow that was lingering just outside your window.

You stepped out of the shower and wrapped your towel around yourself before you stepped out into yours and Magnus bedroom.
"Baby, do you just wanna go downtown and grab breakfast at a cafe?" You called out as you began to change into your clothes.
When you got no response you tip toed out into the living room.
"Magnus?" You called out as you peered around the corner just to see no trace of him.
You suddenly felt a little anxious due to how quiet it was, but breathed out once again when you saw a sticky note left on the coffee table.
You picked it up and smiled when you saw Magnus handwriting scribbled across the note.
Went out to buy us some breakfast, will be back in a few xx
You looked up from the note when footsteps could be heard coming from the hall.
You smiled as you hurried over to the door.
"How did you know I wanted take ou-" you stopped mid sentence when you saw who was standing on your doorstep.
You back tracked a couple of steps, a scream being cut off before it could even leave your throat as you were attacked.
....
You groaned when you slowly felt yourself slip back into consciousness, a headache beginning to pound just behind your eyes.
