Girls like Girls- Clary

You and Clary had been dating for a couple of weeks, but hadn't told any of your friends about it.

They all probably assumed the two of you were just two straight girls, given the fact that Jace had been trying to get it on with Clary several of times.

But to you it had reached a breaking point, you were sick and tired of having to hide your relationship from everyone else, yet terrified of actually coming out to your friends about who you were.

Since you had only ever been with guys before Clary you didn't even know you were attracted to women as well. So this was all very new to you, as it was for Clary as well.

This anxiety didn't lessen as you and Clary were getting ready in her room to meet up with your friends in Central Park for a late night picnic.

"Here, let me help you with that" Clary spoke up, breaking you out from your thoughts when she saw you struggling with putting your necklace on.

You handed the necklace over to her and turned to face the mirror again.

"Shouldn't we just wait with telling them instead" you said as Clary pushed your hair aside and clipped the necklace in place.

"We're both ready for this, [Y/N], and they will be so happy for us, I'm sure" Clary said as she met your gaze in the mirror.

You turned to face her with a hesitant smile resting on your lips. "I know, they're the most accepting people ever, but by telling them it's all so out there, you know" you explained, trying to put words to the emotions you were feeling.

You were excited to finally get to call Clary your girlfriend openly but were still scared in a way of what coming out like this would mean.

Clary suddenly reached out to take your hands in hers, and you looked up to meet her gaze.

"We're ready for this, I know we are" she said with a beautiful smile decorating her features.

You nodded your head as you matched her smile with one of your own. "Yeah, we are" you said slowly feeling that dread that had been bottled up inside your stomach slowly slipping away as Clary entwined her fingers with yours.

As you approached the spot you and your friends had agreed to meet up at you could feel that worry slowly seep back up again into your consciousnesses, but you quickly tried to brush it off.

You looked over at Clary, and felt love surge into your heart when she looked over at you with that pearly white smile of hers.

She squeezed your hand in encouragement.

You turned your head back around to face your friends when they came into view.

Isabelle stood up from where she was seated on a blanket next to Simon and waved the two of you over.

"We brought strawberries" Clary said when the two of you reached your friend group and held up her hand, displaying the multiple containers filled with the dark red treats.

Magnus quickly snatched them out of her hands and immediately plopped one into his mouth.

You saw Alec look over at him when you sat down with such love shining in his eyes that you were immediately set at ease, knowing that this would turn out alright after all.

You were once again snapped out from your thoughts when Clary spoke up.

"Me and [Y/N] have something we want to say to you all" she said before she looked over at you. She bit down on her bottom lip softly before she turned to face your friends looking at the two of you expectantly. "We're together" she finally said.

You could feel your fear subside when you saw the delighted expression on the faces of those around you.

Isabelle nudged Simon with her shoulder. "Told you" she mumbled with a small laugh.

"Wait, you guys knew?" You asked, speaking up for the first time since you had arrived.

"Well, one would have to be blind not to see the way the two of you look at each other" Isabelle said in a matter of factly voice.

"But then Jace, why did you?" You asked referring to his attempts at flirting with Clary.

Jace just shrugged his shoulders with a fleeting smile. "You can't blame a guy for trying" he said sheepishly.

You shook your head with a smile and looked over at Clary when you could feel her lean her head against your shoulder.

"Well for what it's worth, you two make the most adorable couple" Magnus said. "After me and Alexander of course" he added as he reached out to take his boyfriends hand.

You all burst out laughing at his statement,

The conversation soon shifted into something else entirely and you all laughed and talked as you snacked on all of the treats everyone had brought.

As Simon said something that made everyone laugh you looked over at your girlfriend and couldn't help but feel so incredibly happy to finally be able to call her yours in front of everyone.

You couldn't believe how you could think your friends wouldn't approve, when all they ever wanted was for you to be happy, no matter the gender of the person you were together with.

Clary suddenly angled her head that was resting on your shoulder so that she could look up at you.

"You okay?" She asked when she saw the faraway look in your eyes.

"More than okay" you replied as you could feel a smile spreading across your lips.

I hope this one was okay, I have no idea how to write an imagine like this since I'm a straight woman and can never put myself in the shoes of someone who is coming out and how that must feel like but I tried.
