"So where are we going?" I asked, stretching my arms above my head. "First we got to make a stop, so we can get that tracker out of your neck." Rory answered, making a quick glance at me. I rubbed the scar on my neck; it still kind of stung even after all this time. "I want to know what happened to you after I left. I didn't cause you to get any punishments, did I?" Rory asked; he sounded a bit guilty. "Except for them putting a tracker inside of me, the only thing they did was question me and keep an eye on me for a few years." I explained, memories from that time slowly coming back to mind.
"I'm sorry I made you go through that pain. I didn't bring you because I didn't think I could take care of a ten year old girl." Rory answered. What he said surprised me; as a little girl I always thought Rory could be a really good father because of how caring he was and also not being too soft. "It's okay, it taught me how to be tough without you." I replied. Rory sighed and said, "I just wish you chose another partner, so you weren't alone." "Did it ever occur to you that maybe I wanted to be alone?" I asked. Rory looked at me, but quickly averted his eyes back to the road when he almost swerved. "I didn't get a new partner because I knew I wouldn't be happy working with them. You're the most irreplaceable person out there." I continued with a wink. We both chuckled knowing what I just said was true.
We drove for another hour before ending up at a hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. It wasn't fancy but it was comfortable enough. I was used to sleeping in worse hotel rooms when I was on a more than one-day mission. As I was waiting in the lobby for Rory to get the room keys I felt the scar on my neck sting a little and I rubbed it. Rory so my distress, quickly got the room key, and walked over to me. "Are you okay?" he asked. I nodded and replied, "I'm fine, it's just the scar on my neck stings a little." "I'll look at it when we get to our room." Rory said, leading me to the hallway elevator.

"Ouch!" I exclaimed, as Rory took the needle out of the side of my Neck. "Sorry, but that should knock out the tracker, for the night at least." Rory explained, as he set the shot back into the small medical kit. I rubbed my neck again before flopping down on one of the two beds. No words could express how sleepy I was; I completed a mission, was kidnapped by my brother-like friend, and now I was potentially on the run from the only family I have ever known.
"Here, change into these." Rory said. I sat up only to be hit in the face by a clean T-shirt and sweatpants. "Are these yours?" I questioned. "Yeah, they'll be a little big for you, but I'll get clothes for you tomorrow." he answered, as he was looking in his bag. "I can buy stuff myself. You gave me money and credit cards." I replied, getting to my feet. "I know, but I'm going to let you sleep in tomorrow. You've had a tiring day." Rory responded.
I changed into my clothes in the bathroom, and flopped down on one of the beds for the second time, and dozed off. I think Rory was trying to say something, but I didn't hear. My mind was focused on just getting as much sleep as possible.
