"Nice work, Agent Z. Thanks to you we will be able to recruit more people for our academy." the boss said, throwing some files onto the desk. I stood in front of him not speaking, but on occasion I would either shake or nod my head at his questions.

No one knew his real name; he's just the boss. He was a big man with an average sized beard and a bald head. He's the smartest out of all of us, but he's very strict.

"Are you okay? You've seemed off since your return." he asked me. "No sir, nothing is wrong. I'm just tired; it's been a busy day." I lied. The boss looked at me suspiciously, and I had to hold my breath for a few moments as he studied me. "It has been a long day. Go rest up, you have a lot of things to do tomorrow." He dismissed me, and I slowly exhaled as I left the room.

I rubbed my cuff bracelet as I shuffled outside to the two long rows of dorms; the left row for the boys, and the right row for the girls, and as we get more people we just add on to the dorms. There was no noise; everyone else was hanging out with their friends before curfew. I've been a loner ever since Rory left the Academy; the boss and his employees questioned me after Rory's disappearance, but I didn't say anything. They kept an eye on for a few years after that, but they gave up and started trusting me again assuming I didn't know anything.

I passed by a few kids, but didn't even say hello. I walked to my dorm, and saw that it was slightly open. My roommate had moved out a year ago, so it couldn't have been her. I looked around looking for someone around; maybe someone had pulled a prank on me, but there was no one in sight.

I pushed open the door all the way, and looked around the dark room; there was no one there. As I was preparing to turn on my lights, however, someone jumped me from behind the door and slammed their fist into my jaw bone. Pain erupted throughout my skull, and I collapsed on the ground. As I tried to recover, I saw the figure shut the door and lock it; great now I'm stuck in here with a possible murderer.

I saw the mystery person's silhouette come towards me; he grabbed me by the collar of my uniform and slammed me against the wall. "Show me your left wrist." the intruder ordered, their face inches from mine. That question caught me off guard and I stopped struggling and blinked in confusion. "Your left wrist, now!" they ordered again. I didn't hesitate this time and quickly lifted my sleeve and the silver cuff appeared. "You kept it." the intruder mumbled. "What?" I questioned. The intruder grabbed something from the ground and threw it over my face; then he turned me around, pinned my arms behind my back, and tied them together. They let me go for a split second, but then I felt them pull what felt like a burlap bag over my head before dragging me out the door.

I started struggling against their tough grip, but when they whispered, "I wouldn't do that," and when I felt the cold metal of a barrel of a gun pushed into my side, I let my captor lead me without struggle.

The intruder stopped suddenly and pulled me backwards. "Don't move!" I heard someone yell. I pictured a team of security agents pointing weapons at the intruder. "Wait don't fire. That's Agent Z." I heard the boss's voice say. "I'm going to make a deal, you're going to let me take her and I won't kill your precious agent." the intruder responded. His voice sounded somewhat familiar. I felt the gun press deeper into my side and I took in a shallow, sharp breath and tensed up. A few moments later the intruder slowly started moving again, taking me with them; they must have let him pass, great.
