"Rory, are you sure about this?" I questioned, as we were standing at the entrance of what looked like a doctor's office. "'I'm sure, Zyl, Dr. Ezra is the greatest surgeon on the face of the planet. He'll be able to get that ship out of your neck in less than an hour." Rory answered, as we entered the building. I glared at him because he called me Zyl again. The inside of the building looked like a typical doctor's office. There was a long desk with computers and employees behind it. There was a long hallway going somewhere and then there were seats in the waiting room. Right now there was only one other person in the waiting room, and they were reading a magazine that had been sitting on the side table.

Rory gestured for me to sit down while he talked to one of the women at the desk. I slumped down in a seat, and picked up a magazine from the side table; there was nothing interesting for the first two pages, but when I flipped to the third page a headline caught my attention.

Before I could look into the article much deeper to find out more, Rory came over and pushed the magazine down. "C'mon Dr. Ezra wants to see us now." he said. I put the magazine down back on the side table and followed Rory down the hallway, but I glanced back at the magazine and kept thinking about the article.

"You don't have to be scared, Zylina. I'll put you under, so you won't feel anything." Dr. Ezra explained. I was leaning back in a surgery bed and kind of shaking. I have never been this scared before; I have been trapped time and time again by the spy academy's enemies, but when it came to doctors I was terrified. It was probably because the last time I had a surgery, they put the tracking chip inside of my body. "Rory told me about your history and about what those people did to you. I'm not like them." Dr. Ezra said, trying to reassure me. I looked over at Rory for confirmation, though he told me about a dozen times that I trust him. Rory nodded and I laid down on my back.

Dr. Ezra took out a needle from a tray, and placed it into my neck. I winced a little, but moments later I felt my muscles relax, my eyelids get heavy and close, and then I was enveloped by darkness and numbness.

Rory's point of view

I watched as Zylina fell into a peaceful slumber and Dr. Ezra pulled the needle out of her neck. "I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait out in the waiting room. I'll come and get you when I am done." Dr. Ezra said. I nodded understandingly, got up, and opened the door to leave. I glanced back at Zylina, and asked, "She'll be okay, right?" "Of course." Dr. Ezra answered. I nodded again and left the room to wait.

I understood Little Z's fear of needles and doctors; after seeing the scar on her neck I realized that she had been tortured because of my absence. I sat down in the chair Zylina had been sitting in earlier, and then a thought came to mind, "What article was she reading that caught her interest?" I scavenged around for the magazine until I recognized the cover of the magazine Zylina was reading before, and picked it up. I had only glanced at the magazine for a second when getting Little Z to come with me, but because of my really good memory I remember she was on the third and fourth page of the magazine.

I instantly knew which headline it was that caught Zylina's attention; Missing Children Numbers Rise: Children ages 2-5 have been going missing more rapidly all over the U. S. Parents say that their child just disappeared in the night. "That's why she seemed so interested. Those disappearances were probably caused by the spy academy." I thought to myself. I dug deeper into the article to pass the time, but I didn't find out much; only that the kids who had disappeared have left no trace; the parents heard no screaming or break in noises.

"Definitely the Academy; that is their specialty. Leave no trace of anything." I thought to myself, closing the magazine when I knew I wouldn't find any more information. I reached into my back pocket, and pulled out my phone my parents had given me when I told them I had to leave to find Zylina.

I scrolled through the contact list and saw my Mom and dad's number. I inhaled and exhaled deeply, clicked on the number, held the phone up to my ear, and waited for an answer. I had to tell my parents that I wasn't going to stay home for very long; the missing children were our priority now.
