Chapter XII

Y/n pov

I got nervous, my first time flying a dragon alone. But I took a deep breath and got filled with confidence in myself, I know I can do this. Plus I won't let Astrid ruin this for me,
"Ready bud?" I whispered to Toothless.
He nodded his head and we blasted up into the air, I guided Toothless through the obstacle course doing turns, flips, tricky angles, and impressive tricks. Not too bad for my first time if I do say so myself, then I landed back in front of Hiccup and Astrid who both had surprised faces. There was a difference though, Hiccup looked happily surprised and Astrid looked mad I did that successfully.
"That was amazing for your first try." Hiccup says giving me a hug as soon as I got on the ground off Toothless,
"Thank you." I smile hugging him back, from over his shoulder I saw Astrid storming off.
"You need a dragon." Hiccup giggles.
"I would love to have one." I chuckle.
"Come on I'll teach you more things and give you tips." Hiccup says grabbing my hand pulling me back onto Toothless.
We spent the rest of the day practicing, after all that I'd say I'm pretty good. I love flying, it's amazing. Then I got my own flightsuit, Hiccup is going to teach me another day how to use it. He showed me how he can glid along side of Toothless with the suit. He also showed me his weapon he keeps on the suit, a fire blade called inferno. But after a long day of learning we were walking out the academy,
"Oh wait I forgot my mask, I will be right back." Hiccup says running back inside with Toothless following him,
"He's so forgetful." I giggle.
"Yeah well see ya Y/n." Tuffnut says.
"Bye guys see you soon." I smiled and they all waved by to me, as soon as they left I looked at the sky.

It's a full moon tonight, the waves must be bigger than usual. The stars are always so bright here, in Pameabrug there was barely stars. I missed it here so much, and now im started to feel home again. Foot steps started to get closer behind me and I turned to see if it was Hiccup, but it was Astrid.
"You surprised me today." She sighs.
"Maybe if you weren't quick to judge I'd surprise you more." I smirk.
"Sure whatever, but just so you know-" She says giving me an evil grin,
"What?" I ask.
"Hiccup and I are to be married soon, he's engaged to me." She says seriously.
"E-Engaged?" I asked.
"He's going to be the cheif eventually, he needs a chieftainess, and it's been decided." She sighs happily.
A cheiftainess is like a queen to the king,
"Oh-" I say with no emotion, I can't show her I care.
"I know your feelings for my fiance, don't even think about it." She says close to my face then walks away. I felt a knot in my throat, why? Hiccup and I aren't even dating so why does it bother me so much that he has an arrange marriage to Astrid. Before Hiccup came back I started to walk away, I just need to clear my mind. A walk in the forest should work. So I snuck away.

Hiccup's pov

My helmet was no where to be found until Toothless came up to me holding it in his mouth,
"Thanks buddy." I smile.
Toothless and I then started to walk back out but Astrid came up to me,
"Hey baby." She smiles.
"Do not call me that." I roll my eyes.
"What should I call you then?" She asks.
"Call me nothing, I'm going to have my dad cancel the engagement." I sighed.
"What?!" She asks madly.
I just looked passed her to see if Y/n was okay, but I didn't see her. Maybe she's sitting on the bench.
"I don't think its your decision to make." She says.
"Too bad, I have feelings for someone else." I groaned.
"That doesn't matter." She sighs.
I started to walk away,
"I'll be looking forward to it!" She yells.
When I got to where Y/n is supposed to be I see she really is gone. Maybe she started walking to my hut, so I got on Toothless and started heading to my place. But why would she leave without me, that's not like her. I'm a little bummed she left without me.

Y/n pov

I kept trying to stop caring why I feel so disappointed about Hiccup's engagement. The forest is calming, in this case its not. Nothing is I suppose. Eventually I walked so deep into the forest I ended up at the edge on Berk at a cliff with a view of the ocean, a fall from this height would be sudden death. I layed down on the ground and watched the stars, my eyes got heavy. I could hear the crashing noises of the waves and the rocks. Before I could doze off I heard a dragon groaning and whinging in pain. I know that sound anywhere, it's Toothless. Quickly I got up and followed the sounds, what he is doing here? But I ran too quickly not watching where I was running, I fell down a steep slope. But I got up immediately still looking for Toothless, I hope he's not hurt. Then the cries got louder- I looked behind his huge tree, it's not Toothless. Sitting in front of me was a night fury, slowing I got closer. Wait, its not a night fury its a light fury! But she is injured, her wing is bleeding, I can't see why though.

When she spotted me she was backing away slowly with fear, I held my hands up straight so she could see clearly I had no weapons to harm her.
"Hello, I'm Y/n L/n." I say with a kind smile.
She still backed away trying to get away,
"Its okay I'm not going to hurt you." I say.
I saw her staring at my leather belt which has a flame blade on it, so I took of off and threw it far away from me on the ground,
"See no weapons." I say.
She started to come closer a little,
"I see your hurt, I only wish to help you." I smile.
She came even closer and started to sniff me all around, I giggled showing im not a threat.
"If you come with me I'll fix your wing." I say pointing to her wound.
She hesitated but then she agreed by nodding her head,

I didnt touch her just to make her feel more comfortable, then it hit me. The only way I can help her is if I go to the last place I want to me, Hiccup's hut. No other options.
