Chapter XXII

Y/n pov

"When Asher pushed me I landed on that rock." I say taking deep breaths.
"Hiccup help her walk, you two come with me." Stoick says.
Hiccup grabbed my arm and wrapped it around his shoulders, then I stood up groaning.
"As for the rest of you, get on with your day." Stoick says to the group of people around us,
I limped all the way to the main haul where Stoick and Valka's thrown is.
Hiccup helped me sit down,
Then Stoick asked a nurse to help me with my deep cut, she pulled up my leather armor exposing my upper thigh. Stoick and Valka took Hiccup to another room to talk to him, I feel awful. It's my fault they started to fight.

Hiccup's pov

"What the hell were you thinking?!" My dad yells.
"Why did you fight that boy?" My mom asks.
"He started it, I told him I didn't want trouble but he tried to hit me. So I defended myself." I say madly.
"Your the future Cheif, how do you think it makes you look when you beat up a villager?!" He yells.
"And that boy, Asher. Isn't he Astrid's brother?" Valka asks.
I nodded my head,
"You beat up your fiancé's brother?!" My dad continues on yelling.
"Why would you do such a thing?" My mom asks.
"He kept accusing me of wanting to take Y/n away from him." I sigh.
"Y/n is dating him?" My mom asks.
"Was, I don't know about anymore after how he fought me." I shrug.
"Hiccup, you a can't keep putting Y/n above everyone." My dad sighs.
"I will always put her first." I say seriously.
"Sweetie, we know she's your best friend. I mean she's family to us, but things have to change." My mom says with a tone like if she understands.
"Change why? Just because I have to marry someone I don't love, if you understand that she's family to me then you know how much she means to me!" I argue.
"Hiccup we know she's more than like a family member to you." My dad says.
He's trying to say I have feelings for her,
"She does mean more to me than anyone and that means I'd put her above anyone, even myself. I'm done talking about it, I'm going to go check on her." I say walking out the room,
When I got out the room Y/n was getting her leg bandaged, Luna and Toothless were with her.
"Hey are you okay Y/n?" I ask sitting next to her, I saw her hand on the table and I touched it slightly with my finger tips,

Y/n pov

Up close I could see Hiccup's eye was turning black, and his lip had a little but of blood coming out.
"I should be asking you that." I sigh.
"Im okay Y/n, I train to fight. These are nothing." He says pointing at his face,
"There, good as new. Your leg will be sore for a while, you might have a limp. Let me know if the stitches come out." The nurse says interrupting,
"Great, thank you so much." I smile and put my leather armor back down.
"As for you Hiccup, heres an ice pack for your eye." She says pulling an ice brick and wrapping a cloth around it, then she handed it to him,
"Thank you." Hiccup says.
"Take care you two, stay out of trouble." She says leaving.
Hiccup was about to put it on his eye but I gently stopped him by putting my hand on his arm.
"May I?" I ask.
He nodded his head and hands me the pack.
Then I gently put it on his eye,
"Does it hurt?" I ask.
"Nope, your very gentle." He smiles.
"I feel awful about what happened, it's my fault. I'm so sorry Hiccup." I sighed and felt my eyes bridging with tears.
"Y/n, it's not your fault. Don't apologize, I shouldn't have fought him." Hiccup says grabbing my hand softly.
"Asher hurt you, because of me." I say with a tear falling down my cheek.
"Listen, I'd go through so much pain for you-" Hiccup says grabbing my other hand and removing the ice pack,
Then he squeezed both my hands as I looked into his eyes.
"You mean more to me than you'll ever know." He says wipping my tears with his thumb and he gripped my face gently.

"You mean so much to me Hiccup, I don't want to lose you over something stupid, or something unavoidable, like marrying Astrid." I sigh.
"I'm always going to be here, no matter what. Nothing can separate us." He says giving me a hug, I hugged back and smiled. He was hugging me around my wasit again.

Then he let go and crested my cheek,
"I need to tell you something." He says.
"Okay, anything." I smile.
"The truth is Y/n, your the most gorgeous girl I've ever seen. I know it's weird for me to call you attractive because we've been best friends our whole lives. But I can't stop feeling something more stronger-" He continues.
I looked at him confused, is he saying what I think he is?
"I've known you my whole life, your brave, strong, smart, funny, and just amazing. I love being around you because your the best inside and out. You deserve someone better than Asher. He doesn't deserve a person like you." He says.
"Well thank you Hiccup, I-"
"I'm not finished-" Hiccup cuts me off,
I stopped talking,
"There's only one way I can show you how much I care about you." He says.
Hiccup started to lean in slowly, he's going to kiss me?! Holy shit. My heart rate started to increase, and my hands started to shake as he held them. I leaned in too, I cant resist it. He looked at my lips then closed his eyes, I closed my eyes too. Am I dreaming?! Then I felt our lips touch, my stomach filled with butterflies. He crested my cheeks holding my face. I felt tense at first, then I eased into it. My spine felt like it is tingling. I'm kissing Hiccup!! I felt swept off my feet as he gave me a long kiss. I've never felt anything like this before. With Asher a kiss never felt like this, but I didn't love him. Kissing Hiccup feels right, and I can't help but feel so happy.

But then Hiccup pulled away quickly,
"I-I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that." He says blushing and rubbing his neck.
He's embarrassed, and he was biting his lip, Hiccup liked kissing me.
Then I grabbed his face and pulled him in to kiss me, when our lips smashed together he wrapped his hands around my waist and pulled me closer to him,
My cheeks turned pink, and I love the sensation of his lips on mine. Everything was suddenly fading away, the pain from my leg gone, then stress of Asher gone. Nothing could make me feel more happier.
